Foh Sang
At almost every corner of Kota Kinabalu has ever heard of Foh Sang and its ever-famous prawn noodle. Folks would actually be willing to go on a battle –if ever- just to get their hands on this Penang origin dish. At certain times, crowds can be seen swarming the stall and every person there would be driven with hope, hoping that the next prawn mee readied is meant for him or her.

Kedai Kopi Memang
Tucked in the middle of Menggatal Plaza, Kedai Kopi Memang has proven its eligibility to be the crowd’s favourite hot spot owing to the fact that the place is always filled with people. Not a hard guess on the exact reason but the place’s prawn noodle without a doubt contributed to some. Its red-looking broth seems to send of a rather pleasing taste, and devilishly lure its first-timer for a second trip.

Helang Emas Kedai Kopi
One of the many favourites of patrons for the past uncounted years is Helang Emas’s prawn mee that has been titled the best prawn mee in the area. Inarguably a good prawn mee, apparently folks dig the idea of noodles being coated in thick prawn flavour bearing rich scent which basically can be smelled walks away from a single bowl. What more is the fact that almost all condiments are deep fried beforehand from pork to seafood – not for the calorie counters out there but definitely made for the ones who just want to enjoy a really good bowl of noodle.

Kedai Kopi Wong Kee
Evidently, many seem to fancy Kedai Kopi Wong Kee whenever they are around the area especially on digging some of the freshest seafood noodles out there. Tucked somewhere in Kolombong, this noodle place bear its curry mee and prawn mee as their prize-winners. Not exactly a complete experience for first-timers without tasting a single bowl of Penang prawn mee, hence heading down to Wong Kee would hit the spot to get some.

Kedai Kopi Jin Xiang
Another food stand in Kota Kinabalu that bravely whips in one of Penang’s best to be made available in the heart of town. Not all prawn mee can please the crowd and this Jin Xiang stall has stolen hearts for their utmost delicacies including its own prawn mee. Probably does not top the others but definitely worth a try if one is ever around.

Ah Lim Penang Mee Udang @ Kopi Tiam
Wisma Merdeka happens to house a really decent prawn mee stall that is famous among the crowds manned by Ah Lim Penang Mee Udang. A little off than the typical thickened prawn broth that is loved by many, as a matter of fact this stall prefers a much clear soup to make a much obvious noodles and prawns to its eater and not to mention the generosity of Ah Lim in providing a wealthy set of bowls packed with noodles.
