Annyeonghaseyo! That
means ‘hello’ in Hangul by the way. After our dalgakbi, Korean barbecue and Korean
restaurants listicles, we are back at it again with a new addition to the
Korean sensation and this time it’s a dish that will march right into everyone's stomachs and hearts - Korean army stew. Army stew/army base stew (Budae Jjigae) is a
Korean-American fusion stew that dates back to 1954 - when the Korean War ended
and the leftover food smuggled from America was cooked into a stew- it contains
ham, sausage, spam, baked beans, kimchi and
gochujang but many restaurants are having their own take on this hearty Korean
dish.
