Famous for its 'patriotism', Calanthe Art Cafe is the only cafe that combines the coffee from Malaysia's 13 states making it a common tourist spot for local coffee. The 10-year-old cafe also houses beautiful crafty local artwork and decor that represent our country. The interior and design scream retro goodness and we reckon that all that nostalgic vibes will 'hit the spot' of the older generations who have been around for a long time. An ideal choice for consideration when you’re here would be the Signature Owl’s Coffee. Backlane Coffee
Another cafe in Jonker Street, Backlane Coffee is tucked inside a souvenir shop. Despite its rather hidden location, this cafe has become known for many reasons. Firstly, coffee. Backlane offers their houseblend on top of cute DIY lattes with owl-shaped coffee cubes amongst piccolos and mocha. Secondly, the cafe bakes all goodies in-house. You might expect regular red velvet or tiramisus but no, the bakers here are clearly full of passion and creativity as they whip up classics with local twists such as Teh Tarik and Gula Melaka macarons as well as Blackberry Mousse Cheese amongst other exquisite cakes that seem like they've been made by a French pâtissier.More info

Long Hiang Coffee Shop
The oldest establishment in the list, Long Hiang is a Hainanese coffee shop that has been around since 1942. Locals frequent the coffee shop on a daily basis and thus, there's always a crowd. The place is being run by a 4th Generation of the founding family. Although the place is 'old', it is a regular hang-out spot for many locals for a good and hearty Malaysian breakfast. You know, old but gold. Here, local Hainanese coffee is kicked up a notch with Kopiccinno that is topped with a subtle coffee art and served in traditional china. Now, how adorable is that?More info

The Daily Fix Cafe
Located inside a co-founder's mother's souvenir shop, the idea took some convincing before it finally realized. Founded by two ex-students from Australia, the duo decided to bring Austalia's coffee culture back to their hometown in Malacca. The design of the cafe itself is beautiful. There's particularly one wall that often appears on countless social media platforms - which is the one that has vintage antique plates plastered all over. For those who are unaware of the cafe, TBC is an acronym for Teddy Bear Cafe whereby the cafe is flooded with soft and cuddly bears of all colours, sizes and shapes. What better way is there to spend your afternoons if it isn't with a cup of slurp-worthy coffee (and teddy bears, if you're into that)? Distinctively, TBC excels in frozen coffee cubes.
