Do not worry, as you can adjust the spiciness of the noodle by choosing the ‘spice level’. Showered with shallots and spring onion, it is extremely appetizing. The springy and tasty noodles go perfectly with the bowl of Chicken Curry. The pieces of chicken are tender while the broth is thick and fragrant. You can taste a hint of sweetness in the slightly spicy curry broth, a unique Taiwanese flavour.

Baba Ganoush is a Malay-Indian Retaurant nestled among the shop houses of Pending Industrial Estate in Kuching. Serving halal food, they are famed for their tomyam and curry. Their Red Chicken Curry is a must try. The broth is well-flavoured with all kinds of spices with significantly less traces of coconut milk compared to many curries. However, it is not watery at all. The pieces of chicken are tender and almost-deboned. It is cooked with ample amount of curry leaves which adds to the fragrance while a few slices of large green chili adds to the spiciness.

halalBento Ramen is nestled in Brighton Square on the same row as Ipoh Town Kopitiam. The restaurant is extremely popular and favoured by locals. Their Katsu Curry Don is absolutely delightful. Served on a plate, it comes with an ample amount of fluffy white Japanese rice that goes perfectly with the broth. The broth is thick, sweet and only slightly spicy, typical of Japanese-style curries. The chicken katsu pieces are fried to perfection with a thin layer of crispy batter. It is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It is definitely a must-try for Japanese curry lovers!

Lyn’s Tandoori Restaurant is a shop serving authentic north Indian cuisine. The owner and staffs are extremely friendly and attentive. The menu is also huge, featuring all kinds of meat, fish and vegetarian options. Their Chicken Botti Curry is delicious, with the combination of red chilli powder, ginger, garlic and turmeric setting off an explosion of spiciness in your mouth. It is also well-flavoured with coriander and coconut powder. The meat is extremely fresh and tender, while the dollop of goat cheese splattered on top adds to the total flavour.

Their Red Chicken Curry is simply irresistible, with creamy broth laden with coconut milk typical of Thai-style curry. It is also well-flavoured with spices. The pieces of chicken are tender and meaty, while an ample amount of starchy potato is thrown in to give you a fix of carbohydrate. Other vegetables such as long beans compliment the taste well. Do get yourself a Thai coconut drink to go with the curry.
