My Little Herbal Tea & Café Signature
Freshly-brewed herbal tea may have been their forte here, but their traditional Chinese dessert selection is equally recommended as well. Just like their tea varieties, the dessert served in My Little Herbal Tea & Café Signature is free from preservative and artificial colouring. Nevertheless, look out for their herbal goodness of gui ling gao which comes with honey syrup. If you fancy for something different, the café also serves gui ling gao drenched with soy milk.

Soup Restaurant @ 1 Utama
Don’t be fooled by the generic name of the restaurant, as Soup Restaurant knows a thing or two about serving double-boiled soup varieties. But if you’re looking for traditional Chinese dessert, they have it here as well. Sitting on top of the list, of course, is the gui ling gao. The herbal jelly taste just right, but not overly bitter to the extent you need to drench them with honey syrup.

Gao Ren Guan @ Jaya One
For the uninitiated, the word “Gao Ren” doesn’t imply as “tall people” but actually refers to the people of the Gao Zhou district in China. Hence, this is a place where you can savour Gao Zhou cuisine. Most of their dishes here are heavy on ingredients and thankfully, Gao Ren Guan does serve a variety of tummy-soothing dessert such as the classic gui ling gao. Now that’s a great way to end a filling meal!

K.T.Z. Food @ SS2
For those who are wondering about the “K.T.Z.” acronym, it actually means “kei tuck sek” in Cantonese, which literally means “remember to eat”. One of their signature dishes here is the hot and cold desserts ranging from tong sui (sweet broth) to sago loh. On top of that, this restaurant also serves gui ling gao, which comes with a delectable sweet-and-sour honey lemon flavour to balance off the bitterness of the herbal jelly. If that’s not enough, K.T.Z. Food deserves a thumb-up for their creativity to mix fruit juice with gui ling gao jelly into a form of drink.
