A Malaysian and Southern Thai dish, made up of rice steamed in coconut milk, a side of fish with curry, or perhaps chicken as well, assorted pickled vegetables, optional hard-boiled egg and shaved coconut flesh. Kak Mah Nasi Dagang
This place may not look like much but Kak Mah's wide array of side dishes, along with her Nasi Dagang, is well worth the effort. This ramshackle hut certainly has more than meets the eye, where the owner whips up a hearty and delicious plate of nasi dagang. The flavour is so intense that you'll start to doubt your own tongue, questioning the very existence that binds your palate together. It may sound like an over exaggeration, but without a doubt, the food is undeniably awesome.

Restoran Makang
Sticking to the classics, Restoran Makang's nasi dagang is served in a traditionally wrapped paper, similar to how most nasi lemak are served. What is also great about it is the fact that it's easily taken away, with all the contents right where it belongs. Beautifully seasoned turmeric rice served with a piece of 'ayam berempah', two types of sambal and a side of cucumber. It's simple, affordable and delicious.
