Bisque
While their namesake may stand for a lobster soup, Bisque is anything BUT a soup store. Instead, it prides itself as a cake connoiseur. I for one, have personally tried their Lamington at a friend’s party before & found that Bisque have did justice with the Australian dessert. The sponge cake was fluffy enough without being too dry, retaining the right moisture level. The coconut flakes makes everything all the more scrumptious while they certainly did well with the layer of cream in between. Not too sweet and not too cloying. Bisque hit all the right notes with this cake.More info- Open Now

Sugar Candy by Tengku Alianna
I have heard of this young lady’s online cake business for a while now. So one day, I decided to follow the shop on Instagram and BOOM, I fell in love with the colourful, pretty concoctions that the owner, Tengku Alianna has come up with. I was in pastel heaven & I was thinking to myself, the girl can definitely bake. The main star of Sugar Candy? The immensely delicious Vanilla Pavlova. For those who has little knowledge about pavlova, it is a meringue cake originating from Australia. According to Alianna, the pavlova is sooo popular that more than one goes out of her baking studio every single day. The cake tastes as good as it looks & is not too eggy-tasting which most of you will like since certain pavlovas tend to go overboard with the eggs. And best of all, you can customise what sort of fruits you want as the topping. More great news? She bakes everything on her own, even fondant cakes too! The FoodAdvisor team foresee a bright future for this booming cake boutique (after all, a real life Malaysian royal family member has even ordered from here & who can go wrong with a princess’s choice?).More infoSugar Candy MY View restaurant

Root Cellar KL
Root Cellar KL is probably the most well-known business on this list due to it being featured in other famous food websites. Serving excellent pies as well as brownies and cakes, the online cake boutique has been in business and has even sourced their products to restaurants such as The Bee. So a quick guess will be that most of us has probably tasted their cakes at least once before. We do however, have a particular affinity for the bundt cakes which the brand has heavily promoted all over their Facebook such as the photo shown. We really do wanna shout yay, cake after having em. But we do hope they’ll produce more varieties of bundt cakes as they are pretty hard to come by online. There’s always time for bundt and it’s not just for Christmas.More infoRoot Cellar KL View restaurant

Cakelicious
If the Sugarcandy online cake boutique is owned by a lady, lo and behold, Cakeliciousmy is owned by a…drumroll please…a gentleman. Now that fact alone puts all of us girls including me to shame. Syahir, the owner, bakes extravagant cakes. Our team gasped when we saw his flowery, chrysanthemum-ish butter cake on Cakelicious’ Facebook page. As much as people tend to underrate the simplicity of butter cakes, we personally feel that getting the IT factor just right is critical when it comes to butter cakes. Thankfully, Cakelicious got it right. The visual aspect of the cake is heavenly, look at the frosting, icing & everything on the cake. Beautiful. But aside from the butter cakes, Cakelicious has another bestseller which is the Devil’s Chocolate Cake. Devilish indeed. Will Cakelicious make way for more male bakers? We hope so.More infoCakelicious View restaurant

California Cookie Company
California Cookie Company is founded on the basis of baking true American-style, fresh & most importantly, BIG cakes. Though their name has the word Cookie in it, their Carrot Cake has garnered positive reviews from both customers and the owners alike. In fact, a friend who has tasted the cake & who does not like carrots claims that it is one of the best cakes she has ever tasted in her life. There is probably some truth to that statement & if you guys prefer to go to the store itself, California Cookie has a booth in Mont Kiara every Thursday night.More infoCalifornia Cookie Company View restaurant
