    Uncle Leow Popiah

    Since 1957, even though with his old age and eyesights deteriorating, Uncle Leow Popiah is a legendary popiah mobile vendor that you wouldn’t want to miss. He starts selling late in the afternoon at the back alley in Canning Garden. If you’re ordering in large quantity, do give him some time to prepare as his chopping board can only accommodate twelve rolls of popiah at a time. Truth be told, his delicious popiah has delighted the heart of many. Some of his regulars have been eating his popiah during their teenager’s time till now. Just imagine how supportive his regulars are, needless to say it is because of his old school delish popiah!

    Known widely as the 18th stall, Popiah SS Ali is a hawker stall that specializes in Malay version of popiah. It is available in both wet (egg white skin) and dry (fried) version. The popiah here is smaller in size, thus it is slightly cheaper. Moreover, fillings of the popiah is just about right, while it is more generous with its chilli sauce.
