Mansion Tea Stall
This restaurant (formerly known as Al-Amnah Restoran and rebranded as Selangor Mansion), located in the bustling streets of Masjid India, is popular for their huge hot delicious mess that is its Roti Canai Banjir Special. Their acclaim to fame is also due to the fact that this dish can only be found here at this modest restaurant. The “special” part is due to the addition of two half boiled eggs on top of TWO roti canai drowned in thick dhal and spicy sambal. Hence, the banjir part of the name. However, don’t forget to add in the pepper and soy sauce in so as not to leave the eggs feeling tasteless as well as to mix the entire plate thoroughly (some of you may disagree and not find the mess enticing but trust me, it is really good).More infoMansion Tea Stall View restaurant

Valentine Roti
As the banner and sign hanging outside Valentine Roti says, they serve the “Best Roti Canai” in town. Well, judging from the many accolades and polls they have won for that category in newspapers and websites, maybe Valentine Roti really does serve the best roti canai. Looking at the menu, they serve almost every kind of roti you can find in a typical mamak but there is their signature Valentine Roti, which is just like your average roti canai but with fillings of sardine, cabbage, onions and chives. Sounds like a pretty fulfilling meal on its own. The traditional roti canai served is worth every cent paid. The texture is so light and fluffy and the crust was super crispy without getting burnt. It tastes so good that in our opinion, it can be eaten on its own. Valentine Roti definitely lives up to its self-proclamation for having the best roti canai.More infoValentine Roti View restaurant

Lan Roti Canai
For anyone living around Bangsar area, Lan Roti Canai is a household name for its roti canai. The unique thing about this stall is that it’s run by a Malay instead of being a typical mamak restaurant. It is common knowledge that roti canai is a mamak speciality dish but Lan Roti Canai makes them just as good, if not better. Lan Roti Canai has been operating for 32 years and it’s still maintaining its location as well as popularity until today. The concept of self-service is also applied here as customers are expected to grab their own roti canai from the counter and scoop their own dhal. However, if you’re planning on ordering something other than the plain roti canai, then the waiters will be ready to take your orders. The verdict? Well, Lan really manages to retain the softness of the roti and the dhall is superbly thick and creamy. It is very hard to find Malays who can whip up a finger-licking dhall like Lan and for that, they deserve a spot on this list.More infoLan Roti Canai View restaurant

123 Corner
Being one of the more popular stalls at the edge of Kampung Sungai Penchala, 123 Corner is where people from the village and even the neighbouring TTDI come together for their breakfast fill of roti canai ever morning. Sometimes it is also their choice of meal for lunch and dinner. Claiming a recipe that’s been passed down from generation to generation, the stall boasts a menu ranging from nasi lemak to its roti canai. The roti canai is super soft on the inside but a little bit flaky on the outside, making it just perfect. Served with a small bowl of dhall, the roti is easy to tear and fold before being dipped into the gravy. The roti was prepared promptly on a plate, fluffy and light, with just the slightest drizzle of oil. Portion is however, noticeably smaller than the other places listed here but for a price of RM1.20 per roti, it’s probably worth it.More info123 Corner View restaurant

Tg's Nasi Kandar
We Malaysians love delicious and cheap food. And as if any mamak stall food is not cheap enough, we have Tg’s Nasi Kandar in which offers tasty roti canai and with a rather affordable price as well. Being known to cater for the late night owls, the rather crunchy roti is made and is accompanied with a warm bowl of dahl for a tasty treat. Do not worry if you are vegetarian because there are dishes catered to all so if you are looking for a hangout spot and have your favourite roti canai and some tea, head on over to Tg’s Nasi Kandar together with some friends.

Restoran Pak Hassan Kampung Baru
Lying smack in the middle of Kuala Lumpur is this humble stall whose menu consist of only nasi lemak and roti canai. What’s interesting about this place is the low prices of the food despite its location. I’ve come up with the hypothesis that it’s probably cheap as a sedekah since it’s located very close to a mosque. Only three variations of roti canai are served here: plain, roti telur, and roti sardine. And they’re all made fresh based on orders. Unlike other restaurants, Pak Hassan only uses chicken feet curry for the roti canai gravy. Tourists may not find the idea of chicken feet in a small bowl very appetising but it is a truly Asian dish. The curry is put in a huge steel pot and customers are free to scoop the gravy themselves according to their liking. A plain roti canai and a glass of tea will only set you back about RM2.00. Now who said everything is expensive in Kuala Lumpur?More infoRestoran Pak Hassan Kampung Baru View restaurant

A slice of Roti Canai with crispy outside and soft inside with a cup of smooth Teh Tarik, almost perfect breakfast is that simple. The Roti Canai of Roti Canai Melayu is crispy on the outside, but the inside is soft after being grilled. The taste is very multi-layered. With the included dipping sauce, the thick curry bean aroma and the sweet sambal flavor make it a debut..For those who want to enjoy breakfast more and more here, the options are great and the prices are affordable.

Roti Canai Pak Ali probably won't serve the best roti canai around for you, however that doesn't prevent the slow down from being pressed each morning. Students, working individuals and occupants close by all accumulate to appreciate their morning meal before approaching their day. The most well known dish here is Roti Tsunami, which is fundamentally a roti canai 'banjir' topped with two half bubbled eggs.

Roti crushed into pieces with milo powder? That sounds pretty unique for a normal Roti from a mamak. It is their signature dish which is named as "Roti 1 Malaysia". Other than milo powder, there are crushed peanuts on it too, don't hesitate to give it a try.More info1 Malaysia Mamak View restaurant
