Shabu-shabu or in other words, consists of thin slices of meat (usually beef or pork) that is meant for quick boiling consumption and is to be eaten with one or more dipping sauce later. And what's more to expect from these list of restaurants, some of it do serve the fusion of Korean and Japanese cuisines. Fun fact for starters when drinking a soju, do not pour your own soju into the glass. Serving of Soju is usually done by the elders, and you will have to receive it with both hands.

Yotsuba Japanese Restaurant
Yotsuba Japanese Restaurant is a double storey casual dining place located at one of the bustling area in melaka town. Come and try the shabu-shabu here! The shabu-shabu here is sliced adequately thin and it goes well with a perfect combination of their homemade sauce. The downside of this place is that Yotsuba is chicken-free, so only lean pork and beef slices are being served. And of course, sushi and kushiyaki (Japanese satay) can be found here too. As for the soup, there are four different flavours to choose from. For chili-eaters, you may place a special request for the soup to challenge yourself!

Suya Korean & Japanese Restaurant
Whenever there’s steamboat involved, shabu-shabu tend to tag along as well. As compared to Yotsuba, SUYA offers both Korean and Japanese buffet style steamboat. The food is freshly prepared and choices of meat were not limited to pork and beef. There are chicken and lamb slices as well. Drinks served include soju and sake to match both steamboat style preferences. They do serve beer as well so just so you know, this place is non-halal.

Dapune Korean Buffet
Dapune Korean Buffet is easily located at Melaka Raya. Not much complaint about the food yet, but food availability is not that consistent. However, there are days where the food quantity is of good servings and perhaps they should add more choices for drinks too.

Wonderful Steamboat Buffet
The next place on the list is the Wonderful Steamboat Buffet. They are probably wonderful because there are over 80 food varieties on their menu! Another plus point for them too as they are also serving fresh seafood all the way from Tanjung Sepat and the price is relatively cheap as well. As for the broth, you can choose any broth that is to your liking as they cater for different taste buds such as the tomyam soup, baba nyonya curry, herbal soup and more, from the extra spicy to the less spicy. And yes, they do have pork and beef slices!
