Barat
Propped with a sleek and clean look, Barat is a fine dining restaurant that revolves around vegetarian cuisines. But other than the refreshing combination of fine and vegetarian dishes; elements of Mediterranean touches are introduced to the food to further elevate the flavours and the entire experience of dining here. Honed and adept chefs are seen putting scrupulous efforts into presenting the exquisite dishes, which are only the façade of many more refined tastes and textures. Also in the mix is a selection of wine to complement the fine dishes; after all, what better way to spend the evening?

Fuego at Troika Sky Dining
One of the three restaurants in Troika Sky Dining section (the other being Cantaloupe and Strato), Fuego has received fiery applause from food critics all over the country ever since it opened. The term “fiery” befitting the meaning of the word Fuego which is Spanish for fire. Naturally, the restaurant serves Latin American cuisine ranging from Salmon Roe Guacamole to the Latino version of Malaysian’s cakoi - their amazing churros! The restaurant pays serious attention to their guacamole, even going as far as to hire a team of chefs who make them all day long. Aside from that, the quail eggs melt in your mouth and the soft shell crabs will tantalise the taste buds of seafood lovers. The innovative cocktails do not disappoint either; blending rice milk and cinnamon for their Horchata. Panoramic view, well-executed food and decadent desserts, Fuego is clearly on fire.More infoFuego at Troika Sky Dining View restaurant

Ahhh, finally, a French restaurant on this list and what a beautiful one it is. Café Café is argueably the most beautiful restaurant in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, with its panelled walls and classy décor. Everything in the place evokes a 19th century Parisian air which befits its simplistic name and not to mention the humongous chandelier hanging from the ceiling! Anyway, on to the food, the foie gras is touted as the best appetiser on their menu because after all, it is a French restaurant and what better way to start your meals than with a truly authentic French dish. Next up, the Wagyu beef which has been described as butter on the tongue. The texture is reminiscent of chocolate and it literally melts in your mouth - nothing short of splendid and a standing ovation. The French have been known for being proud of their food but it still astounds us how the same quality can be reproduced in Malaysia. Café Café will surely convert you into a French food-loving person, all thanks to their amazing representation of French cuisine.More infoCafe Cafe View restaurant

Ciao Restorante
Operating since 1991, Ciao Ristorante is actually the oldest Italian restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. Aesthetically, Ciao is the perfect poster building of what a fine dining restaurant should look like: majestic, has a view of the Royal Selangor Golf Club and even has a peek of KLCC from far away. Entering the place, you would never even guess that traffic is building up in Jalan Tun Razak because it is an entirely different story in there. Peaceful with light jazz playing in the background, everything complements the food which is excellent. A standout pasta dish is the Ravioli di Spinaci Al Burro e Salvia, which is a pasta filled with spinach and ricotta cheese, served with butter and sage sauce, while the Grigliata di Pesce features king tiger prawns the size of your head. For a fine dining restaurant, Ciao is reasonably priced and very modestly decorated despite its sky high reputation in KL. Overall, an excellent fine dining experience is guaranteed for its customers.More infoCiao Ristorante View restaurant

View in Google Maps Marble 8
Anyone familiar with Jalan Binjai will probably notice this building on their way to KLCC due to its sheer size and boxy design alone. Marble 8 is one of those restaurants that prides itself based on their steaks. The Wagyu beef takes centre stage here having flown all the way from Australia and dry-aged in the restaurant for at least a month. But before sinking your teeth into the beef, you might need to warm yourself up with one of their excellent starters, the “rare” Chilled Cauliflower Soup with Sevruga caviar which boasts of a very unique taste not quite found in the menus of other restaurants. When it comes to main dish, the Sirloin Steak should be a crowd favourite with a choice of Himalayan sea salt to really bring out the flavours of the meat. Coupled with side dishes of asparagus and Portobello mushrooms, Marble 8 really lives up to its reputation of being steak experts. In case you’re not a steak fan, the restaurant serves a really good lobster dish too - the sweet Blue Normandy lobster to be exact.More infoMarble 8 View restaurant

The word beauty does not even come close to describing this place as Neo Tamarind is one of the best picks for a wedding or girl's 21 birthday venue. Starting with a glorious entrance where the timber steps are inclined together with a water feature, followed by a warm and inviting patio, and finally, a series of dining ambiance to suit your needs. Upon seating, you will be given a complimentary starter, which varies accordingly. Do expect the food to be in smaller portions, as do most fine dining. However, not to worry, the flavours that are developed through meticulous processes surely do come through.

Opus Bistro
Located in the quieter section of Bangsar in Jalan Bangkung, Opus Bistro has attracted a group of loyal customers due to its classic Italian offerings. Their Seafood Antipasti Platter is a winner with perfectly grilled scallops and prawns as well as fresh clams in white sauce and calamari in the Arrabiatta sauce. Iif you think the main dish cannot live up to that appetiser, wait until you have a taste of the Rib Eye Steak with Gorgonzola Cheese Sauce. Sure, things get a little pricey from there but for a fine dining experience, it is expected. As for desserts, order something different such as the Cheese Platter in case you’re a cheese lover or the Chocolate Desire, their signature chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Watch in awe as the hot chocolate lava melts through the cracks and enjoy the explosion in your mouth as the cold ice cream combines with the hot lava and sends you to heaven.More infoOpus Bistro View restaurant

Kurata Japanese Fine Dining is another splendid place to enjoy a series of fine Japanese that is crafted with love and passion. They are incredibly famous for their wide range of sushi and sashimi. On top of that, their bento sets are well worth the money. They were also once famed for offering All-you-can-eat Wagyu Shabu Shabu for only RM120! We really hope that they bring that back, but even if they do not, there are still plenty of other dishes to enjoy. The view from this place is breathtaking. Make plans to take lots of photos of KL's skyline. Reserve a table ahead of time as the place can get really crowded. The most famous delicacy here is their Sabayon Du Chalet, which is the dessert that can dance! Why is it called a dancing dessert? The reason lies in the way it is presented. Sabayon Du Chalet is an egg-based cold dessert. The staff will take turns stirring the eggs in front of the customers with music. That's why there is a saying of dancing desserts.

Who would have thought molecular cooking could apply to Indian food. Heavy beetroot dissected into particles of wafer, dust, roast and shreds. Classic "rasam" renewed its feat as a sexy consommé. Underrated flattened rice "aval" comes out with a dish on its own. If you are of Malaysia heritage, you will be familiar with the flavours presented in their degustation menu. In short this restaurant walks the fine line of presenting local flavours with a western twist. The ‘western’ element is strong enough that I would give this place a go as it is really interesting to see how Nadodi modernizes Indian cuisine. You will be blown away with the unique flavors and textures, the gorgeous presentation and the creativity of flavor pairings.
