Kyochon
Thanks to the mass popularity of K-Pop sensation that penetrated our local market these days, even Korean food is getting plenty of buzz! One of them is of course the Korean fried chicken from the award-winning KyoChon restaurant. Hailed all the way from South Korea, KyoChon is known for its MSG-free quality poultry and best of all, not as greasy as you would normally find in a typical fried chicken. This sensation comes in three types of flavours: “Original Soy Series”, “Red Series” and “Honey Series”. While both Original Soy and Red Series (glazed over with hot Korean red chilli peppers sauce) are decent enough, it is their honey-glazed fried chicken that is truly worth savouring for. It’s irresistibly crunchy to the bite and the sweetness of natural honey makes the dish all the more appetising. Upon ordering the fried chicken, you have an option of picking regular, medium or large size, while the chicken types, available with a choice of wingette and drumette, as well as drumstick.More infoKyoChon 1991 @ Pavilion KL View restaurant

Sei Ngan Zai Fried Chicken @ Pudu Wai Sek Kai
The famous Pudu Wai Sek Kai is best known for many local Chinese foods like fried carrot cake, chee cheong fun, and one fried chicken hawker stall that you should totally stop by. Sei Ngan Zai Fried Chicken (or “Bespectacled Guy Fried Chicken”, roughly translated from the small yellow signboard atop the counter) serves perfectly deep-fried chicken with really crispy skin – worth every bite as you sink your teeth in. Are you one that is picky with parts? Here you’ll get to choose from drumstick, wing, carcass, breast, thigh, feet and even butt (or more appropriately, “bishop’s nose”). Aside the crispy exterior, the white meat on the inside is both juicy and succulent.More infoSei Ngan Zai Fried Chicken @ Pudu Wai Sek Kai View restaurant

Restoran ZK
This corner mamak restaurant in Kampung Attap is best known for its signature fish head curry. It is so popular, you’ll be surprised by how many local patrons are willing to queue up for it. While the fish head curry is the main highlight in Restoran ZK, the honey fried chicken comes highly-recommended as well. The fried chicken itself is blessed with crispy skin, and tastes even better with its sweet-as-honey glaze! No doubt it’s a must-have dish if you happen to stop by here.More infoRestoran ZK View restaurant

Ipoh Steamed Tilapia in Sauce
This place itself is more of a makeshift food stall sandwiched between the two shop lots along the alleyway, complete with zinc rooftop. If you’re asking why the funny name, it’s actually a direct translation from the Chinese signboard. The delicious steamed tilapia (or better known by the local Chinese as “fei zhou yu” or “African fish”) may get the credit here but many patrons frequent this stall for its signature salted egg fried chicken wings (and drumsticks). It might sound like a weird combination at first, especially for those who are so used to eating normal fried chicken, but a taste of this will have you agreeing on the recipe. Here, the chicken wings are deep-fried to perfection with the right level of crispiness, while matching well with the piquant flavour of the salted egg. Don’t be surprised if you end up addicted to them. I know I have.More infoIpoh Steamed Tilapia in Sauce View restaurant
