OneSixFive by Intercontinental hotel is a great place for afternoon tea that even the Queen would approve of. Not only do they serve various pastries on a circular-multi-tiered high-tea set, each of what's available are done to perfection as well. From sandwiches to scones and cakes to macaroons, a good balance of sweet and savoury can be found here. Not forgetting the stunning view right out of the window, where you can find a peaceful yet mesmerising piece of waterfall decor. Coffee and tea pairs pretty well with the dainty bites, but the main draw here is their signature hot chocolate. Okay, not a common match but you just can't overlook a rich chocolate drink.

Everyone has heard of Nobu, or some of you might have even been there. For those who don't, Nobu is a fine dining international Japanese brand that had landed in Malaysia quite some time ago. They're famed for all the exquisite and luxurious Japanese dishes that some can only dream of. In any case, not many would know that they actually do offer high-tea. Quite surprising eh? Unlike most European high-tea sets, Nobu's variant is done in a rather unique bento-like box. Flashing an array of colourful bite-size dishes, each one of them does pack a significant amount of flavour and texture. 

Many may agree that it's overrated, some may even hate it. But one cannot disagree that TWG Tea is one of the most common place to enjoy high-tea for most business oriented people. The cafe itself is mostly quiet with minimal noise, the service is quick and efficient, though they may be rather rude sometimes. But all and all, they will get the job done. Everything is done on point, and the selection of tea are pretty decent. So if you're around the area and you're looking for a simple high tea set, then perhaps TWG Tea might just cut it.

Being one of the oldest hotels in Kuala Lumpur certainly isn't easy. They've gone through all the ups and down without closing down. It is also known as one of the more prestige hotel, not because of its price, but rather because of its characteristic and quaint ambience. Their high-tea set isn't the prettiest in town, nor is it the fanciest, but they do deliver both in terms of flavour and variety. It's a great place if you're planning to have a business meeting or a simple get together with some old friends.

Delectable by Su's version of the high-tea is truly something else. They do not follow the standard law of 3-tier display, but rather, everything being placed on a wooden tray and yes it's meant to be shared over the social media. The selection of snacks too are really different as the star of the dish would be cookies! Who doesn't love cookies! It also includes edible terrariums, popcorn brownie avalanche, and even a cookie play board. Pair that with a cup of Glyphon tea and you're set to enjoy your afternoon.

The Lanai Lounge is one of Royale Chulan's many in-house dining. Located right next to the stairs and in the middle of everything, The Lanai Lounge is a great social gathering hub that offers a pretty decent array of light snacks and drinks. The use of timber flooring as well as vintage-like chairs does give it a certain characteristic. Last but not least, the high-tea set that is available during the day. It's not what you'll expect as the high-tea set is actually Malay kuih. A rather unique combination and twist, but certainly is well worth the try.

The Lounge by Hilton is another simple and cosy place that has a pretty decent range of snacks within its high tea snacks. It's not exactly something to die for, but what's interesting about this particular set is the fact that it's served in a bird-cage-like rack. It's pretty odd, yet it's rather amusing. Gotta love the display method! Apart from that, everything else within it is pretty straight forwarded. On par with the way its served, the delectable bites such as scones, cakes, pudding and a pot of tea do nothing but impress your palate.

There is a point in time where Thirty8 was the go-to place for high-tea. A number of popular Instagrammers, as well as social influencers, frequented Thirty8, and has made the place quite a hit. Having said that, they're not without substance as their high-tea set is pretty well made. The 3-tier stack consists of a good selection of macaroons of the day, scones, cakes and sandwiches. Not to mention that the price is rather affordable, allowing almost anybody to enjoy the little pleasures in life. Since it's located on the 38th floor, Thirty8 would further win over your heart as a vantage point, offering impressive views of the city, while you gobble down the delecacies.

St. Regis is famed for having one of the most expensive and beautiful Japanese restaurants in Kuala Lumpur. Opened by a 3-Michelin starred chef, the brand of St. Regis has shot up tremendously over the past several months. Similarly, their 'Drawing Room', which is a lobby-lounge has been receiving similar compliments as well. Fancy high-tea sets that are done to perfection with lovely scones, finger sandwiches, cakes, and pastry. With an emphasis on using fresh and premium ingredients while keeping an eye on the aesthetical value, these bite-sized wonders are simply spectacular!

Started in Paris in 1862 before finally expanding to Malaysia just recently, Laduree Malaysia is probably the first High Tea places you can visit and book a table for you and your best buddies over a cup of various fine teas and cute pastries to indulge over, and then stopping by a certain counter and ordering a box of pastries you've eaten earlier to bring some back for your other besties so you could bring them to Laduree Malaysia the next week. Laduree Malaysia is already making waves as Pavilion KL's heart and gem, but also looking and playing the part of a proper High Tea establishment with great quality teas and remarkable pastries with an amazing environment that should not be forgotten.

Lounge on the Park is one of Mandarin Oriental's prized possessions. Not only does the interior of the place look absolutely amazing with a fusion of Chinese and modern design, the floor to ceiling window further highlight its fine detail and overall ambience. The high-tea set here isn't the most affordable, but what you can expect a great deal of finesse and of course, flavour as well. It's plated beautifully on a circular wooden high-tea set, and Instagramming it certainly is well worth your time. Last but not least, they have over 60 premium teas, as well as cocktails and juices!

Quite surprisingly, the Lobby Lounge at Shangri-la isn't as grand nor detailed as some of what's available. It is huge, but everything seems bare from afar. All you know is that they have high-tea there, and that's about it regarding the image. Having said that, the high-tea set itself is pretty good, with a wide range sandwich, pastries, cakes and scones. They're all done quite nicely, so feel free to take a few photos and post it on social media.
