Tomoe Japanese Restaurant
Tomoe Japanese Restaurant has been a staple destination for Japanese food enthusiasts. Living up to their reputation, there’s a great range of sushi, sashimi, udon and so on, yet you should never go past their chicken katsudon. Expect a bowl generously stocked up with white rice drenched with sweet sauce, topped with egg and slices of fried chicken fillet, then sealed with a sprinkling of chopped chives. Certainly a bowl that brims with taste and texture in every mouthful, and for a dose of heat, do ask for chopped chillies. The flavours are good but the attentive service and cosy ambience just make the experience even better.

Tokyo Kitchen

The clever blend of wood and bamboo in the backdrop, as well as the moodily-lit lamps flaunt cosy and nostalgic vibes. Among the showstoppers on the menu is their chicken katsu curry rice – deep-fried breaded chicken fillet perched atop a bed of white rice and thick curry loaded with tender potato halves and finished with a smattering of sesame seeds. The curry leans towards the sweet side and is mildly spiced to ensure it fits the bill for all palates. Done mopping the bowl clean, while away the time by writing your comments and reviews on wooden planks which are then festooned in a decor space of the restaurant.
