Kedai Bawah Pokok
One might have trouble locating this nameless stall in PD. Fortunately, the town is pretty small so just take a stroll along Jalan Pantai and watch out for Kedai Bawah Pokok. The place is a big hit amongst locals who frequent for a variety of Malay-Malaysian food, such as cucur, laksa, ais kacang and such. The place may not be very hygienic so if you're OCD then make sure to bring your wet wipes.More infoKedai Bawah Pokok View restaurant

Seri Mesra is more like a Malaysian-style Malay restaurant. Food fares of Malay-fusion origins. The place is well known for grilled fish but other dishes are also absolutely delicious. Most items on the menu are mainly Malay-influenced but you'll also find some Chinese-influenced ones. That is why we love Seri Mesra because it is a perfect result of perfect combinations.

Warung Wak Rahman
It is near criminal to hide those smirks and smiles once you've gotten a taste of Warung Wak Rahman's Malay food. Nasi lemak, satay and mee rebus are just a few of the offerings in the warung's menu. We definitely recommend the nasi lemak here because of the sambal... Amazing (and spicy), it is a dish that is not to be missed if you do visit this place.

Warung Warisan Asam PedasCertified
halalAsam pedas, ulam, sambal sotong and such? Yes please! At Warisan Corner Asam Pedas, you'll find an array of Malay dishes. Asam pedas is the signature dish (just reiterating casually) and it is delicious. The gravy is watery but sweet, sour and spicy nonetheless. The restaurant only opens from noon till evening so don't bother visiting once the sun has set. If you want a taste of the food here, you're just gonna have to visit during broad daylight.

Restoran Asam Pedas Kasih IbuCertified
halalMalay cuisine are best homecooked with recipes of passed down generations. We definitely vouch for that as we have tasted, seen and witnessed many 'mainstream' Malay restaurants go out of business simply because the market has no demand for subpar Malay food especially since there are so many good ones around. Asam Pedas Kasih Ibu is a stunner in the scene as all dishes have a sense of home – just like its name, "Mother's Love".

Cowboy Place
Love nasi kukus and ayam panggang? Look no further and head onto Cowboy Place for the best nasi kukus ayam panggang in town. The place is packed with patrons on a daily basis simply because the food is apparently so distinctive that no where else compensates. While the menu is limited, the humble eatery is surely a great Malay restaurant.
