Best Mushroom Soup in Kota Kinabalu

Kudos Bistro is a pretty fancy place that offers modern European cuisine in Gaya Street, Kota Kinabalu. They've just relaunched their menu with the inception of British, French, Italian, Mediterranean, and various other European dishes, all under one roof. Despite the amount of posh-looking dishes, their humble mushroom soup too is fairly decent. In fact, it's a lot better than most places with the right amount of flavour and richness.

Sailors' Cafe is a warm and casual place with a design similar to those pubs by the ocean at most western countries. For starters, their version of the mushroom soup is fairly decent. Made in-house with freshly blended mushrooms and cream, the soup itself is well flavoured. There's also bits of mushrooms left which gives it that texture it needs - not to mention it helps stick onto the garlic toasts.

Kalamatas Resto' Ba is a pretty nice place to chill and have a glass of beer in the middle of the night. The dark ambiance together with the fairly loud music makes it a rather happening spot in town. Also, they have a series of finger foods and starters like the mushroom soup, which is made with fairly fresh ingredients each day. The soup is also slight thicker than usual, but still packs in a good load of flavour.

Many have agreed that Upperstar Cafe & Bar is a great place to chill with awesome service here in Segama Complex, Kota Kinabalu. This pub-like cafe with a good selection of beer has been home to many celebrations and occasion, especially during football matches. They also have pretty good mushroom soup, which is best had before drinking, just to help tone things down a little. It's creamy, it's rich and it's delicious.

Little Italy may look like it's lost in time, but this little historical place has been a great place for family and friends to dine in and enjoy a hearty Italian meal. Like every other Italian restaurant, there is a need for mushroom soup, in which they're incredibly good at. It's well seasoned and packed with essence of mushroom that anyone would enjoy. It's also slightly creamy which gives it that taste that we are accustomed to. 

Chilli Vanilla is another chill and rustic restaurant that offers comfort food at the heart of Kota Kinabalu. It houses a good amount of western comfort food ranging from pastas to stews, pizza to taco. Of course, they also have the ever so popular mushroom soup, which is made pretty nicely with freshly blended mushroom and cream. It's simple, delicious and goes well with toasts.

The Chateau Patisserie Cafe is a stunning looking place with a great sense of contemporary design. It is also run by an award-winning French chef, Frederic Chateau. They're also incredibly well known for their extensive range of fresh pastries, which is a delight to have with a bowl of mushroom soup. It's light but flavourful, creamy yet subtle. A soup so complex that you'll start thinking twice about it.
