You not only can get sandwiches here at Tedboy Express but you can also enjoy the dishes from their selection of pasta too. Their pasta menu is perfect for patrons looking for something a little heavy for a fuel packed lunch. A simple yet humble dish – the Spaghetti Chicken Bolognese serves a generous amount of pasta, chicken Bolognese sauce and topped with parmesan cheese along with a cherry tomato and basil garnish on top. The springy spaghetti is cooked to al dente and complements well with the sour yet sweet Bolognese sauce and sharp taste of the parmesan cheese - promising you a hearty feeling to each bite.

Here’s another food joint that just screams, “PORK!” Located at Bangsar Village 1, this porky place is spacious and comfortable. Makes you in the mood for a great comforting meal such as a creamy pasta. Their signature pasta here is The Wolf’s Favourite. A creamy combination of loads of smoky pork bacon and mushrooms, topped with a perfectly runny poached egg. You know the first step, spear the eggy dome and let it tie the dish together. Everything is perfect except it being a little too dry. If you can’t get enough of meats, order their ribs as well. 

Breadfruit’s Brunch Pasta w 7 min Egg pasta is no stranger to the locals, making a name for itself with rich and creamy textures, combined with fragrant and vibrant ingredients. It comes in a generous portion of a mix of chopped bacon, mushrooms, pieces of chopped tomatoes, fresh rocket leaves and served in an appetising light carbonara sauce. The dish is designed to taste exceptionally flavoursome when complemented with those ingredients, churning out a sensation of savoury and umami to your taste buds. Wrap up your meal with their fresh juices. 

Skillet at 163’s version of the wild mushroom penne is probably one of the best there is in town. The depth of flavour from the creamy mushroom sauce is nothing but phenomenal. It’s rich, savoury and packed full of earthiness. The penne is also done to absolutely al-dente with an adequate portion, where the choice of penne was perfect for the coating of the sauce and hearty toppings. Absolutely delicious, this is definitely worth going for. Also, do store some space for desserts. Considering the cosy and comforting ambience, if your partner is an Italian food lover, this is the place to be. 

Two Sons Bistro's Spicy Prawn Linguine comes highly recommended. Not only does it have a large prawn, the sauce is done absolutely perfectly. The rich seafood essence could be tasted throughout the creamy tomato sauce, providing that rich depth of flavour and aroma to the linguine. Tiger prawns are really fresh and plump, not to mention sweet as well. If you're looking for a seafood pasta, this is definitely it. 

Brunch & Munch has been reaping up positive reviews among the locals. The options on the menu is pretty extensive but one of the best sellers got to be their carbonara spaghetti. Conspicuous with its amount of toppings, you might have already fallen into its seduction. But that guilt will be absolved as soon as you take a bite off this divine dish. The texture is done to a mellow creaminess, especially with the runny egg on top, followed by a rich, fragrant, and ambrosial flavour that will leave your hands intact with your fork. 

Chewy and plump pastas tossed together into a mélange of tomato, herbs, and spices do carry a salivating façade that will surely get anyone’s tummy to rumble in no time. The dish is laced with tangy tinges with a little bit of tang for those with slightly rugged taste buds. What makes this dish so luscious is its texture, where the chef’s honed skills come into play. A vibrant touch of shaved cheese is speckled in to give one final layer of savoury flavour. Despite the small portion, this dish is sure to wow your taste buds! 

La Risata is a gorgeous Italian restaurant that is homely with dim lighting and incredibly sinful food! Established back in 1999, La Risata is one of the best Italian restaurants around. Consistent in their flavouring and cooking, one of the recommended pastas here is their Spaghetti Ala Risata. It’s baked in foil with hearty tomato sauce, full of seafood varieties such as squid, prawns, mussels and clams. It also has a bit of chilli in it, so it gives that extra kick to the tongue. Looking at the ambience, we have also ranked it as one of the most romantic restaurants around.

Chez Leoniel is what we would consider a hidden gem. Located deep within the fortress of Alliance Francaise KL, Chez Leoniel is a French bakery and cafe, offering fresh pastries, cakes and of course, delectable French cuisine. Possibly one of the most balanced spaghetti bolognese that we've had. The flavour wasn't as rich as other restaurants but we could certainly taste the individual components at its best. Well coated with just the right portion and pasta cooked beautifully (al-dente), you have to give this pasta a shot. Besides that, considering the cosy and relaxing interior, grab some French soda and linger a little longer. 

Pork and Carbonara is a simple combination, yet a decadence that everyone enjoys. A hodgepodge of ingredients is present here, from meat floss, mushrooms, cheese, and the ever so divine bacon. Swirling up pasta onto your fork has never been so seductive. The flavours are well on the balanced side as well, tucked in between a mellow richness and an al-dente texture. Other choices include the salmon and pesto cream as well as the simple combination of mushroom and rocket salad. Apart from the delicious flavours, the portions are laudable too. 

Grilled Lamb Carbonara. Now that's something we don't see every day but for the cooks behind the scenes of Grella's grill, burger and steak joint, it's nothing more than a stroll in the park, whipping up the decadent pastas dish with ease. Cooked to al-dente consistency, the stringy starchy spaghetti is smothered with creamy white sauce. Neatly plated on a flat porcelain plate, the spaghetti is topped with tender, juicy chunks of lamb fresh from the grill, accompanied by a healthy dose of brown sauce. Garnished with shredded lettuce and carrots for an aesthetic touch, this particular carbonara -savoury and creamy; will give you something to talk about for the rest of the week.

Aglio Olio Pasta is known to always be a simple dish, full of flavours. That's exactly what Hot Kitchen @ Corus did with their Vegetarian Aglio Olio. Despite the lack of meat, the addition of olives, cherry tomatoes, chilli flakes add so much into the flavour that you won't know that it's actually vegetarian. 

One of the great things about pastas in Mikey’s New York Pizza is the unique sauces of each dish, and of course the name of it as well. One of our favourites would definitely be the “Hot Mama’s” Spicy Bolognese simply because the sauce had that intense depth of flavour. It’s sweet, savoury, fresh and finish with a tinge of spiciness and kick. The spaghetti too were cooked nicely and comes with a side of garlic toast. Portion-wise, no worries as the serving is quite American sized. If you unbelievably still have some space left in your belly, don’t miss out their pizzas. 

There are a few key elements to a good plate of spaghetti – the sauce, the pasta and of course, the added meat or seafood. It’s not common for anyone to successfully achieve all 3 but Neroteca is definitely one of them. Serving not only one of the most perfectly cooked spaghetti (al-dente), but a good balance in its tomato base sauce and possibly a set of the freshest seafood around. Worked perfectly in harmony with exceptional taste and texture! Oh yes, to sweeten up your meal, end your meal with their tiramisu. 

Jamaica Blue cafe is located at the North Atrium of Mid Valley and is one of the few cafes in the vicinity. They are famous for their signature Jamaica blend coffee and a more premium Wallenford blend. They both have their own unique characteristics, with the signature blend being more smooth and subtle while the Wallenford was slightly more pungent. Apart from their coffee, they too offer a good selection of pasta. The Smoked Salmon Spaghetti that we had was really good. It was light, appetising and most of its flavours and saltiness came from the smoked salmon and capers, which was really nice as it’s the star of the dish. Good flavour, well balanced and fresh!

Here in Wichday, you will be amazed by another creation of a recipe- infusing a ton of new flavours you’ve never had with pasta. Think a bed of pasta served with seaweed, shredded vegetables, peanuts, and a special sauce, it’s tasty on a whole new level. Two Ox has always been in the running for the best French restaurant in KL. Options are far-flung, yet among the favourites are their pasta. A vegetarian take towards this rejuvenating dish certainly does add a vibrant participant in their menu. Imagine spiral pasta, topped with rockets, raisins, cucumbers, speckles of pine nuts, and a bed of tomatoes; showered with a mellow take of pesto to give it an altogether delectable flavour. The itty-bitty textures from the raisins and pine nuts employ a nice dimension to this dish. Oh yes, desserts here are spot on! 

Jemi Cafe is your friendly neighbourhood-sorta cafe that offers a limited selection of items on their menu. Do not worry as the limitation of dishes is actually good, as it helps the cafe focus on what's most important. As for their smoked duck aglio-olio, it is done quite nicely with a good amount of garlic, chilli flakes and of course, cut-up smoked duck. The flavours are well balanced and nothing is overpowering. This plate is definitely worth the try. What better way to wrap up your meal than a cup of cuppa.

The creamy linguine that’s served in T-Club delivers on what’s needed from a pasta dish such as this. With roasted chicken slices in a cream mushroom sauce topped with Parmesan cheese, this plate of pasta is certainly rich and flavourful. The chicken slices are juicy and they work well with the sauce. As far as the sauce as concerned, it has the right balance of being rich and full of flavour, especially since the mushroom flavour is very evident in the sauce. Even the textures in this dish make it a pleasure to take every bite, with the combination of well-cooked pasta, juicy mushrooms and chicken slices; all of which are bound together with the cream sauce.

Nooks by Baker Dave is one of the latest additions to the cafe world and has been drawing over diverse crowd, especially in Hartamas. Their interior features a contemporary and edgy design along with fusion cuisines to suit the ambience. One of which includes their pesto pasta. The presentation is nothing short of an aesthetic delight. In terms of flavours, it’s well seasoned and perfectly balance with a nice depth of flavour. The pan-seared chicken topping the haystack of pasta is delicious too. Hearty, healthy and full of flavours are best adjectives to describe this dish. 

This cafe is widely revered for their decent selection of burgers but they sure deliver delectable pastas too. To be fair, who doesn’t like soft shell crabs? It’s light, soft, crispy and chewy all at the same time. Not to mention, when it’s seasoned and fried correctly, the taste can be quite the luxury. Here, their Garlic Butter Crab pasta is no different. Cooked with delicious garlic butter sauce and salsa, the spaghetti itself was both light and well balanced. So if you’re a crab and spaghetti lover, this would be your second home. 

It’s not every day that we encounter a Thai Green Curry Spaghetti like the ones here at PH Pastry House. Usually, when we say Spaghetti, our minds turn towards the Italian image, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Just occasionally, we might prefer something different, something out of the ordinary and something unique. PH Pastry House’s green curry spaghetti is exactly that. Sweet, creamy and a tinge of spiciness maximises the flavours of Malaysian and Thai green curry, served with fresh seafood, chicken strips and a baguette toast.

If you would like to experience a different kind of dining experience, how about a private one? Huck’s Cafe is a privately owned home based restaurant tucked in a quiet neighbourhood of Bangsar. Mr Huck Seng is the owner and chef of Huck’s Cafe and the surprising thing is, he wasn’t a trained chef. He self-trains and his food, ingredients and unique recipes are amazing! Amazing main course pasta dish would be the Ocean Deep. It’s a seafood pasta comprising of clams, mussels, prawns and squid with dried shrimp sambal, belacan, santan and kaffir lime leaves. A very good East-meets-West creation!

This homely Italian restaurant is located in a quiet part of Bangsar and it serves one of the most authentic Italian dishes around. According to Opus Bistro, the pasta dish that made them famous is the Spaghetti alla Opus; with plenty of fresh seafood and a touch of fresh herbs, it’s no wonder it made them famous. Other pasta favourites here are the homemade Spinach Avioli with Gorgonola Cream Sauce and Linguini Aglio Olio with Smoked Duck. In short, whatever the choice of pasta you pick, you’re in for a good time.

Villa Danieli at Sheraton Imperial KL hotel simply needs no introduction to Italian food buffs. It is a homely and romantic restaurant that is a stunner to look at. They emphasise to bring you on a journey to Italy with their decoration and food. Aside from their wood-fired pizzas, their signature spaghetti, Villa Danieli seafood spaghetti is generously laden with tender to bite seafood cooked at its best while the spaghetti itself is al dente. This restaurant is a little pricey but worth the overall experience. The best place to go on a first date!

Aether Cafe is located in a blissful neighbourhood of TTDI. Accompanied by lush greenery and carefully designed interior, Malaysia brothers Mark & Shaun opt to provide an escape or sanctuary for the office crowd. The food here leans towards the healthier side, without sacrificing the taste of course. Their Vinegar Garlic Pasta is one of the many offerings here. Despite the quirky combination, the dish is rather light, flavourful, colourful and refreshing. So if you’re bored of the standard carbonara or bolognese, this pasta is one not to be missed. 

Living in a country full of diversity, you’re going to be looking for a variety of fusion dishes. Part of that search will be completed once you’ve tried the Thai Style Pasta at Le Gardenz Cafe. With the balance of cream sauce and tom yam done right, along with a generous serving of seafood and a sprinkling of herbs, this dish will bring your taste buds to a place in pasta heaven. Not forgetting the simple yet alluring presentation that wows to win you likes over the social media. Good things got to be shared!

The Pasta Carbonara at Bookmark Coffee will definitely captivate your palate with a mix of different flavours. Inspired by some Swedish elements, the Carbonara does boast a unique flavour not found in other recipes. Other than the rich and decadent creamy sauce, the pasta is also topped with an egg, fish roe, bacon bits, and sided with slices of Smoked Duck, it’s the definition of appetising right here and also justifies that pastas are really versatile. The name of the cafe certainly rings true if you’re a fan of pasta. The Peranakan pasta here combines the cultural elements of our Nyonya flavours with the contemporary taste of creamy pasta sauces. The rich and fragrant creamy curry holds favour towards the crushed coriander and curry leaves, giving it a scent that you can also savour on your palate. The addition of chilli padi offers a nice spicy kick while the generous thump of shrimp and squid further enhances the flavours of the dish. Who says fusion can’t get any more interesting?

Brussels's pasta is a unique blend of Asian and Western mix. While for the most of it the pasta has a western feel to it, such as sauce base and cooking style, the ingredients however gives it a glint of Asian feel to it. The seafood for example uses lala and prawn, which gives it that "fresh from the sea" taste to compliment the already amazing bolognese sauce. The price may be slightly hefty compared to other pasta shops, but it is most certainly an enjoyable unique experience, especially for those who hanker to chug down few beers along the meal.
