Probably in layman's terms, Popiah is called a spring roll that is wrapped in all kinds of raw and cooked ingredients. The base ones include shredded turnips (bangkwang), carrots and lettuce whilst later added with some prawns, pork cracklings as well as chopped hard-boiled eggs. Depending on the variations, they are wrapped in popiah skins and either served as it is in its soft state or deep fried for a more solid exterior. These popiah skins can wrap as many ingredients you put in but with even with the amount of olive oil, it takes skill to wrap it in a way the ingredients do not overflow or fall out. For a more flavourful serving, you are encouraged to eat it with the dipping sauces provided.

Restoran Well Cook Gourmet
Restoran Well Cook Gourmet has the menu of pretty affordable street food. Besides renowned for their main dish the Fried Laksa, they serve a well-prepared and nicely wrapped popiah. Not only do you get a rather generous size of the dish, but you also get quite an indulgent amount of ingredients. Looking like it is overflowing, the outer layer plays a rather good job in maintaining the ingredients within the skin. There is an abundance of turnip shreds as well as the chili paste for the spicy kick.
