Macallum Connoisseur
Macallum Connoisseur is certainly one of the more beautiful, modern and edgy cafes in Penang. From afar, the facade actually looks like the ones you see in Australia or the US. The cafe itself is inside a huge warehouse, with plenty of seating available surrounding a central island for ordering. The red velvet cake which they offer is done beautifully where each layer is perfectly aligned with cream cheese frosting. The final layer is topped with generous red velvet dusting. An elegant and absolutely stunning piece to enjoy in the spacious eatery.

Gala House Restaurant & Cafe
The red velvet cake in Gala House Restaurant & Cafe is rather simple with three tiers of red coloured sponge with cream cheese frosting in between and one generous spread on top. The cake has a pretty nice balance of flavour that it isn't overly sweet. It may be simple but quite satisfying in every the bite.
