Best Satays in Putrajaya/Cyberjaya

Written by Updated ago

Meat stick as some might call it, is a delicious piece of local specialty. It comprises of the standard 4 types of meat; mainly chicken, beef lamb and occasionally pork. However, on rare occasion you'll find rabbit and deer meat as well, which are slightly chewier and taste rather gamey taste. Then again, if the satay is well marinated and grilled beautifully, all these imperfections won't matter.

Satay Station has been an incredible hit since its inception in Ayer@8 at Putrajaya. This awkwardly assembled restaurant (furniture choices internally), as the name suggests, offers satay marinated and grilled to tender perfection over a classic bbq pit. The flavours of each stick of satay is not only delicious, the evenly cooked meat and its portioning too are commendable. Not forgetting the amazing homemade peanut sauce with a tad bit more spiciness, it's without a doubt, delicious to the core.

    Tips

Ask for additional peanut sauce at no added charge.

    A clean and vibrant cafe.

    Asam boi.

If there's anything that comes into mind when someone mentions Kajang, it would definitely be satay as Kajang has always been a haven for satay lovers. This popular franchised restaurant can also be found all over Klang Valley and the reason for its popularity isn't much of a secret either. Deliciously grilled sticks of meat, marinated to perfection and served with deliciously spicy peanut sauce, cucumbers, onions and rice. For the purist, eating it on its own too is pretty good.

Satay Menara, for some reason it's named after a building. Regardless of which, they are stepping up a notch in providing a selection of rare and uncommon meat such as beef tenderloin and rabbit. Yes, you've heard (in this case, read) that right. For those that prefer a slightly more gammy taste, and chewier texture, you can opt for the rabbit meat satay. Do not worry though, the marination and peanut sauce that comes with it are delicious as well.

    Tips

    Large takeaway available.

    Things to expect

A stall offering a whole lot of satay.

    Best with

Peanut sauce, cubed rice and cucumber.

Nestled in a rather clean and vibrant neighbourhood park, Sate Laman Perdana is the first of its kind to have an operation in such a kiosk. Now that my friend, is pure entertainment.

Yes, it's a noodle house. No, that's not all it serves. My Iman Noodles House is a Chinese-muslim restaurant with an abundance of local specialties and western infusion. The classic satay too can be found here and is done with a pretty good sense of flavour, texture and oomph. The peanut sauce that comes with it is not only delicious, it's lick-worthy. Finish it up with a Lompat Tikam dessert as it's claimed to be one of the best in town.

    Tips

    Free flow of drinks.

    Things to expect

A wide range of Chinese-muslim food.

Screw the name. How on Earth does anyone pronounce 'Abgmanjoi' if you're not local. In any case, apart from that flaw, they actually offer a pretty decent array of satay. From chicken, beef and lamb, choosing merely one would be a grave mistake. In fact, go for a split of 3 and you can enjoy each and every one of those different flavour.

    Tips

Call up to see if they're operational.

    Things to expect

    Classically done satay.

    Best with
