“Pick me up!”. Literally translated to Italian, it means “tiramisu”. This sophisticated Italian dessert takes a lot of delicate detailing in baking the right amount of everything in it; coffee liquor, cocoa powder and mascarpone cheese are the most essential ingredients in a tiramisu, just to name a few. Traditionally, there is no alcohol in tiramisu but in certain places, bakeries and cafés will indicate whether it has coffee liquor or rum in it. Petaling Jaya unquestionably has a few cafés and bakeries that will make you go gaga for this sweet Italian delight!

Amazingly, Suchan has been around the food and beverage scene for around 20 years and they are still going strong. The tiramisu here has been their most popular cake and Suchan is a 3-time award winner for Tatler Malaysia Best Restaurants in KL. The famous tiramisu uses coffee syrup as a substitute instead of an alcoholic syrup and it is as divine! The Victorian sponges are sandwiched with mascarpone cheese and bittersweet chocolate slices. To add a crunchy sweetness to it, caramelized almond pralines are sprinkled on the top garnished with a light strawberry puree at the side. It deserves a try, especially because it’s a good reason they are still standing strong since 1994!More info
