Just the name itself draws your attention to two things: 1) big crowd; 2) great food. The crowd doesn’t seem to scare people away nor does it affect the food quality, so that’s not much of a biggie. Let’s talk about the star of the show: the Signature Baked Eggs. Eggs are cracked into a hot plate filled with lamb, beef and chicken bratwurst, sun dried tomatoes, aubergine, potatoes and of course, cheese! Another great eatery at Publika, Fahrenheit 600 offers a range of food from salads to calzones to their signature pizzas. Their principles include no fried food and only using quality olive oil to prepare meals, so you won’t feel guilty after you’ve realized you ate too much. Their oven baked eggs, otherwise known as Aunty Joanna, is molten goodness of eggs and cheese with homemade sausages drenched in Napolitana sauce and topped with a couple of leafy rockets for added taste. The name Breadfruits should ring a bell for those of you who love seeking out new brunch spots. However, it’s not just a café but a local market place for you to buy fresh fruits! Looking around the café, you can’t help but notice how restricted the space is. Breadfruits believes in using only the freshest ingredients, so you know you’re paying for quality food and not something out of a can. The Wholemeal Spanish Baked Bean uses fresh cannelloni beans and takes up about half the meal portion, so I suppose you have to really like baked beans before considering this dish. You also have cuts of bacon and rocket leaves topped over two eggs to enhance the existing flavours. The version of baked eggs served at VCR differs slightly from the usual ones we’re used to. Instead of your typical Shakshuka style where everything is baked inside a hot plate and topped with loads of cheese, the Turkish Baked Eggs’ main ingredient are whole chickpeas.
