Speakeasy bars isn't exactly common in Malaysia. However, with the latest inception of CHAZE at Marquee, you'll be wondering why have you not visited sooner. The place itself is located in Menara Lien Hoe, an odd location to say the least but the design and atmosphere of the place is phenomenal. Going through the large sliding door, exposing a dark, cosy and lavish interior certainly is an experience like no other. There are also ping-pong and pool tables within, so you and your buddies can enjoy a good night out with some fun activities. You can also book the "Play Room", a VIP section behind closed doors that requires a password to enter, exposing a pool table, darts machine and karaoke for functions, meetings and various other events  

Spitalfield’s Gastrobar certainly does belong in this list! Never mind that they have a mysterious chamber where their private bar is at, or that they have a secret code to open a gateway to this bar (it's called Nightingale by the way). The real magic that happens here is their in-house cocktails, meaning they can’t be found anywhere else. Gone are the days where your only selections are screwdrivers, mojitos and yadah yadahs. Their concoctions will make you feel happy before the first sip!

A speakeasy bar sneakily tucked away in the bustling city, Hyde at 53M is the perfect place for you to let it down a notch. With adept bartenders eloquently twisting, turning, and shaking up some premium cocktails, you alcohol needs are straightened out here effortlessly. Just sit comfortably and sip away. 

So, you start off with some relaxing beers and perhaps some cocktails. You challenge your friends to a couple of dart games and then realise you need more hype. That’s not a problem here at Foley’s where you can treat yourself to a rooftop bar, exposed to the night sky and also a barbeque area; enough said. 

Devotees of rock and roll assemble! Online bar is hailed as a rock and roll heaven with never-ending hard-hitting music that is just impossible to resist. They do serve decent choices of beers but they are well patronised for Guinness and also pride for pouring the best Guinness pint. Aside from the libation, delicious grubs are up for grabs too, and we are not talking about regular burgers and fries, be amazed with dishes like hokkien mee, pork vindaloo and the best seller – wild boar curry! The meat is succulently tender and packs a punch that ties together an ideal companion for your cold beer. Prices are pretty appropriate and staffs are unpretentious, rounding up a memorable experience. 

Among the pioneers in the bar scene, and despite mushrooming competitors, Waikiki Bar is here to stay! Staying true to how it sounds like, Waikiki Bar is a Hawaiian-theme al fresco bar with bamboo balls, rattan high chairs, straw-thatched roof and the main attraction, little lights draping up palm trees that complete the surrounds, forming an asterism feel. Besides the selection of beers and liquors, if you’re in the mood for cocktail, be sure to imbibe their signature Waikiki Breeze which is made up of vodka, blue Curacao and coconut milk. Definitely not your ordinary bar that you’ll find in PJ but one not to be missed.

These tucked away bar are meant to be kept hidden to create an exclusive atmosphere in Phileo Damansara.
