Chee Cheong Fun is among Malaysians’ favourite dish, either as a breakfast, simple snack or a companion when your tummy is bored. It’s literally translated at pig intestine noodles, yet don’t jump out of your seat, it’s purely rice noodles and visually resembles a pig intestine. The texture of the rice noodles is pivotal and the thick gooey prawn paste and chili sauce is what completes the dish. It might sound simple, however it requires lots of skills and savoury. Spots below are highly vaunted among Penangites, be it sticking to the original flavours or spinning new flavour twists, it’s all here!

Sin Kim San Cafe
This food court offers far-flung choices of dishes that would satisfy all sorts of appetite, from pizzas baked in open firewood oven to sizzling grilled seafood, curry mee to nasi kandar, it’s all here. The Chee Cheong Fun stall is praiseworthy, despite being underrated or rather unknown to some. The rice noodle is fresh and exudes a springy texture and is snuggly soaked in the thick prawn paste, spicy chili sauce and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. It’s a delight to your mouth, gentle texture and great flavours.
