Dian Huo Xin Wo
A good and hearty piping-hot steamboat meal has to complement well with a glass of refreshing drink to balance everything. Thankfully, Dian Huo Xin Wo doesn’t disappoint in the beverage category. Here, you can expect good old traditional Chinese teas such as Oolong, Pu-erh and Xiang Pian (Jasmine tea). However, it is their signature special herbal tea that stands out the most. Served in either a glass or a chilled transparent bottle, the tea has a nice blend of sugarcane-infused sweetness that is both soothing and flavourful. You wouldn’t want to miss out on ordering this beverage to go with your steamboat dish!

This reputable French teahouse has actually been around since 1919, but only made its Malaysian debut not long ago at the 1 Utama Shopping Mall. With more than 50 tea varieties to choose from, Betjeman & Barton offers everything from classic teas to herbal teas. If you’re looking for iced tea, opt for “Malesherbes” – an exotic Sencha green tea concoction enhanced with red rose petals and wild strawberries, among others. Also not to forget are the exquisite range of full-bodied teapot varieties such as their “Citronnelle” (a lemon-based herbal tea) and “Tilleul” (a delicate blend of honey-like lime blossom tea).

Kesom Café
No stranger to homemade Kelantanese dishes such as Nasi Kerabu and Nasi Dagang with Gulai Raja Berangkat, Kesom Café is also known for its interesting herbal drink concoction of “APA” a.k.a. “Apa Pun Ada”. Think of it as a local version of a non-alcoholic mojito drink, except the ingredients consist mainly of herbs, including mint leaves, screw pine (pandan) and lemongrass. Not only is it refreshing enough to quench your thirst, it also makes this special herbal beverage an ideal complement for your rice-heavy dishes.
