Charlie's Cafe
If you're looking for a place that serves a good of bowl Sarawak Laksa, Charlie's Cafe is the place to go. The broth is made with a good amount of ingredients that some so happens to be imported from Sarawak, making it really rich and flavourful. The noodles are not cooked all the way through, which helps retains a bite to it. Served with shrimps, beansprout, soft beancurd, fishballs, lime, and opulent sambal belacan blended from fresh red chillies.

Limapulo: Baba Can Cook
Having been voted as the People's Favorite by The Star, Limapulo: Baba Can Cook has even more to live up to right now. Lucky for us, it is no problem for the man behind the infamous curry laksa, Uncle John. The 73-year-old Baba has been serving his curry laksa with recipes that were passed down for many generations from his Nyonya ancestors of Malacca. He reckons that it is his duty to continue the legacy of authentic Nyonya cuisine. True enough, that has been exactly what he's done for many years - that is serving authentic Nyonya laksa to lucky KL-ites.More infoLimapulo: Baba Can Cook View restaurant

halalIf you are ever in Midvalley and not knowing what to eat, why not pay Sepiring Uniquely Malaysia a visit? They are located on the first floor right at the end of South Court. Their kiosk-like dining area is open and spacious. On top of that, they also offer a wide range of Malaysian favourites such as curry laksa, nyonya laksa and asam laksa. All of which is done in that tiny kitchen of theirs, which is quite surprising considering the quality that they are capable of. It's rich, it's flavourful and it's quite nicely plated. Oh, they also have a pretty good durian crepe dessert!

Grandmama's
At Grandmama's, Malaysian food is taken up a notch with a beautiful and comfortable ambience and exceptional service. With its 21st century cafe-like ambience, it is quite a different experience to be indulging in Malaysian street food here. Prices, of course, are steep compared to your everyday hawker food meals. However, rest assured that quality and refinery are upheld with beautiful looking, and delightful smelling, local cuisine that does not compromise on taste and flavor!More infoGrandmama’s View restaurant

Kedai Kopi Ming Sing
Located in Jalan Ipoh, Kedai Kopi Ming Sing (star in Cantonese) has been a local favourite for a long time. Expect to see a lot of cute elderly couples or old friends who have been loyal customers of the restaurant for decades. The curry laksa here is especially famous and is definitely the 'star' of the restaurant. The dish here is known to be very fragrant and flavorsome with good portions of ingredients (besides the noodles we mean).More infoKedai Kopi Ming Sing View restaurant

Curry Laksa stall @ Madras Lane
Located off Petaling Street, while many dub the area to be a "tourist" spot, it doesn't mean that the food here is any less delicious or authentic. Do you know that the lady owner of the laksa stall in the hawker area has been in business for 50 years? Besides curry laksa, asam laksa is also available here. If you're not a fan of laksa, you might want to try the equally famous Yong Tau Foo right next to the laksa stall. The constant crowd here are definitely driven by the good food Chinatown offers.More infoMadras Lane View restaurant

Restoran OK
Restoran OK has been said to serve the best hawker food within Taman Tun Dr. Ismail and thus, "OK" as their label is probably an understatement. Many have raved for the curry laksa, Sarawak kolo mee, char kuey teow and pan mee to name a few. While Restoran Yong Len is typically hyped, loyals of Restoran OK swear by the latter's upper hand in their hawker food. The curry laksa here is made by the same lady who runs the Char Kuey Teow stall. It is safe to say that most, if not, at least half of the patrons come here for either a bowl of curry laksa or a plate of Penang's fried Kuey Teow.More infoRestoran OK View restaurant

Hailing from Penang, Hawker Street is owned and operated by a couple who wants to share the love and passion for Penang food to the rest of KL. Finding them is not all that difficult, but parking definitely is. Fortunately, all that trouble is well worth the effort simply because their food is absolutely delicious. Just clean, hearty, wholesome and honest food. Nothing too pretentious, everything is done just nice. You will find everything from asam laksa to Penang Hokkien Mee (otherwise known as prawn mee here in KL), Penang white curry mee and even a light bowl of pork minced kuey teow.
