Best Otak-Otak in PJ

Lorong Seratus Tahun is famed for its wide variety of local delicacies. Be it curry mee, Nyonya laksa, nasi lemak or even their otak-otak. Wrapped beautifully in two layers of pandan leaves, its core content is well encased and steamed to perfection. Thus creating a smooth, rich and delicate piece of otak-otak. It's also really fishy in both smell and taste, which is great to most people. All and all, this serving of snack is definitely well worth the try. 

Kafe Pin Chou isn't exactly the type of place you'll find that exactly. Located in the quieter corner of SS2, PJ, Kafe Pin Chou is a humble coffee shop that has a good variety of local food to serve. Though the otak-otak isn't exactly done by them, it's served in the cafe by a third party supplier. It's what you'll expect from a decent otak-otak, rich in fish flavour and is slightly spicy. Not to mention that they are equally as addictive as well. One basket can barely be enough. 

Nyonya Colors is another great restaurant that is available nationwide. It's simple and casual setting invites all sorts of people from different walks of life to enjoy simple life's pleasures. Apart from all their delectable Nyonya kuih, the otak-otak too is quite the addictive snack. It's incredibly rich in flavour, but might need a tad bit more salt to some. It's also really creamy and smooth, much like a paste. If you want to be slightly special, you could spread it on toasts!

Mapley 223, or rather, Food Court 223 to some people. It's an incredibly huge food court with plenty of things to eat. Not only that, the crowd here is pretty solid too! You definitely will not feel lonely at all when you're here, and it is also a great place to chill out with friends. Amongst many of its food available, the otak-otak is certainly a great snack. It's rich and delicate, but doesn't taste all that fishy. This may be great to some, and not so to others. So do choose wisely. 

Utara Coffee House is the lobby restaurant of Armada Hotel PJ. Not only do they have quite the selection of buffet spread, most of what is available are done pretty well. The price isn't all that ridiculous so families can still have a decent buffet meal without needing to sell their kidneys. As for their otak-otak, though it may be a buffet, it still is pretty decent. It has a pretty good fishy flavour that everyone loves, as well as spices and seasoning. All and all, it's not the greatest, but it ain't that bad either. 

Indulge in an array of fancy Thai cuisine with Erawan Classic Thai & Fusion. This restaurant does not only offer some of the best Thai food in the market, the ambiance of the place too is both cozy and warm. Most of what is available here are cooked to perfection, including the ever so simple otak-otak. A dish that no one bats an eye about, but can be an incredible start to a great meal ahead. Not only is the otak-otak served quite beautifully, it also packs in a good amount of flavour from the fish and spice. It's a simple Thai-influenced appetiser that you might enjoy.

myElephant has won numerous awards for its range of amazing Thai dishes. Not only are they delicious, they are affordable as well. Their "Khai Jiao Ho Mok" (otak-otak omelette) is without a doubt, one of the best appetisers or side dishes available. It is incredibly well seasoned and flavoured, making it a perfect compliment with some rice. Served with a side of homemade chilli that is both tangy and sweet, which is a great compliment to the otak-otak omelette itself.
