Hungrybear prolly got its name from where it is situated now. Putting that aside for now, Hungry Bear marks the beginning of a paradise for pizza and pasta lovers. And what’s more to ask for when you can sit back and steadily enjoy your pizza while your kids have fun with the doughs at the pizza workshop. There are also a wide selection of pizzas for you to choose from, ranging from a garlic cheese crust to the original hand-tossed crust. The Garlic Crunch with Cheese (a pizza that resembles a garlic bread) is a good kick start to begin with or you can even spice up your mixing skills and customize your own pizza. Hungry Bear serves only halal food and alcohol-free drinks.

Another modern Italian restaurant that caught my attention is the Casa Cucina Modern Italian restaurant. This is one of the restaurant that serves fine Italian cuisine and that will definitely leave a memorable experience on your taste buds! This place seems pricey but it sure is worth trying, a good value for money. One of the bestsellers in Casa Cucina is the margherita cheese pizza. The name may sound somewhat alcoholic but fret not, it is actually a light thin crust pizza that crisps yet chewy, nicely topped with Vietnamese mints, fresh tomatoes and mozzarella cheese and sprinkled with some olive oil.

K5 or “Kaki Lima”, The Street Bistro is an outdoor dining terrace. It easily located at Equatorial Hotel, one of the prestigious 5-star hotels in Melaka. K5 serves a juicy award winning scrumptious smoked duck breast pizza that is topped with peach slices, cheese and onions dipped in caramel. Plus if you’re looking for a place to hang out, K5 will be the perfect choice as it operates 24/7 daily. Besides, they do have the all time classic favourites such as “mee goreng mamak special” if you would like to taste the local's.

Halia Inc is created when two lovebirds from east meets west and fall in love, and shared the same passion and interest in embracing the culture of Melaka. Instead of having just the usual bare peri-peri chicken, something for you to look forward to when you’re here is the one of a kind peri-peri chicken pizza, freshly baked using its German-made oven. If you’re fond of chilli, this is literally a must try! And rest assured, Halia Inc is halal certified! Since it is a fusion between east and west, local delicacies such as nasi lemak can be found here too.

Located strategically in one of the busiest area in Melaka town, Sirocco Restaurant can be found at Holiday Inn Hotel, which was also awarded as Malaysia Best Restaurant in 2015 by Malaysia Tatler! Over here, it creates a dining experience that is surrounded by modern Italy ambience. Despite being a 4-star hotel, Sirocco allows its guests or visitors to be at their own comfort zone as there is no dress code needed! One of the signature dishes here is the smoked salmon pizza. It may look a little less attractive on the outside, even though with some smoked salmon, sour cream toppings and drops of olive oil, but never to judge a book by it’s cover as it is simply one of the best pizzas in Melaka. Price is on the higher side but of finest high quality ingredients.

If you’re looking for a pizza that is delicious yet affordable, try J’s Corner Hawaiian pizza. The last time I checked in, it was around 10 bucks. How cheap is that! Despite the charred edges from the wood fire, the crust was fairly thin, it was presentable and it’s pretty awesome. Last  but not least, J’s Corner do cater for parties too.

Found closeby towards the oldest Chinese temple in Melaka, Seeds Garden Bistro features a serene atmosphere in a modish bistro, in addition to a home and living cafe. Perhaps while you’re doing some sightseeing here and had no idea where to go for a very wholesome brunch and dinner, pay a visit here instead! Not only that, even the light and easy meals, is simply nutritious yet fulfilling such as the Mushroom Pizza. A thin crepe-like topped with merely mixed mushrooms, cheese and bechamel sauce, and baked until a crisp outer layer, this is in fact a marvellous combination that even the non-meat lovers will fall for it effortlessly.
