Teppanyaki has been apart of Japanese culinary culture for an incredibly long time. The essence of teppanyaki lies within the hot grill, and the skills of the chef. Fresh ingredients are also important, as salt, pepper and perhaps soy sauce are the only condiments and seasoning used. Over the years, teppanyaki has gotten pretty intense, with restaurants now coming up with new methods of dining, or some might say, gimmicks. Whatever it may be, it's great to have a variety of teppanyaki restaurants in PJ. Without further ado, here are some spots in which you may find said dish in the area!

Genji Japanese Restaurant
Genji is Hilton's prized Japanese restaurant. Modern yet traditional, a balance of both worlds. The food too is well reflected on the theme and decor, with traditional ingredients being made into modern delights. Having said that, their teppanyaki is still fairly old school, where fresh produce are cooked on the grill and served in a bento. Everything here is fresh and perfectly done, so even the boring old look would taste pretty good.

Minori Japanese Restaurant
Minori Japanese Restaurant is another fine place that prioritise quality above all else. This contemporary restaurant with a good Japanese vibe is helmed in the Royale Bintang Hotel, offering guests stunning contemporary Japanese cuisine. They are also one of the first to introduce "fish sperm", but let's leave that for another day. Their beef teppanyaki, being the most popular, is absolutely delightful. Grilled perfectly pink and seasoned with salt, pepper and garlic, giving it a whole lot of depth and flavour. It is also served with a side of roasted vegetables.

Eyuzu
Eyuzu has been quite popular with its Japanese buffet for many years, probably almost a decade by now. They were one of the few that offers all-you-can-eat sashimi, alongside live teppanyaki services. Fortunately, that have not stopped and their teppanyaki till today, is still as delicious as before. Beautifully cooked, tender, juicy and packed full of flavour. The bento set also comes with a side of salad, fruits, rice, soup and a side dish.
