Situated smack in the centre of the city, LOKL coffee is the perfect place to bring it down a notch from the bustling urban scene. First of all, the ambience is comforting and Instagram-worthy. Then the real deal is the wide selection of breakfast food, coffee and desserts, you’re pretty much covered. One of the specialities here is their scrumptious Croque Madame - packed with heavenly cheese, smoked chicken, and truffle sauce. Or if you’re in the mood for regular runners like big breakfast and bagels, fret not, you won’t return disappointed. Café, checked; delicious food, checked.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, which is why at Breakfast Thieves, you'll be exposed to a wide array of visually stunning, flavoursome and delicious breakfast meals. Located in APW, Bangsar, this place looks absolutely stunning from outside. Inside, it's both cosy and bright, encouraging a simple photo shoot moment. The food served is also really creative, where the most popular dishes are deconstructed and crafted from scratch. The dishes are also plated really beautifully, and sharing them on social media will certainly make your friends drool. They certainly have brought breakfast to a whole new level. 

Heavily inspired by the Wizards of Oz, Wizards at Tribeca is here to replenish your mana for the day! Instead of dropping a house on you, their chefs and award-winning baristas are here to drop some specialty coffee and amazing Australian – Asian fusion dishes on fellow patrons. Overall, Wizards is a perfect city center dining spot where you can feel the hustle but relaxing vibes.

Located on a street populated by New Straits Times Press and China Press buildings in the nearby area, Pulp café is considered a hidden gem within the Bangsar location. Upon entering the premise, the café is surrounded by a massive glass wall all around (which also translates as: good enough for those who love to take photos of their favourite food since one doesn’t have to worry about the lack of lighting). In case you are wondering about the industrial-like setup in this café, it used to be an old printing company. At the front entrance, there’s a white-coloured tagline against the glass wall that reads “A City That Deserves Great Coffee”. True to their promise, their coffee range is top notch. But most of all, they also offer creative types of coffee such as Suke Quto (a medium-bodied coffee which has an aromatic hint of citrus and candy-like sweetness) and Nuts + Bolts (a fruity and nutty-rich coffee). Then there’s Cold Brew in a cough syrup-like bottle, a refreshing coffee best consumed with ice and also an ideal drink to counter against the frequently hot weather in KL.

Leaf & Co Cafe, which shares the same premise at Mingle Hotel, is another stunning place where one can enjoy delicious food and coffee. Interiorly, this place is really rustic and old-fashioned, but somehow has that element of contemporary design. The slight pop in colours from the chairs, the use of light and the strokes of aluminium all contributed to the design of the place. As for the food, it's back to basics with a bit of twist. The Malaysian Spaghetti is similar to what Mee Goreng Mamak, where the dish is tossed in gravy and served with chunks of chicken. Overall, a simple place that you should totally check out.

The epitome of simplicity and a no-frills environment, Feeka Coffee Roasters is a good hangout place with ample of floor space in the middle to walk around since the furniture arrangement is cleverly placed on both sides of the wall and on the plant-themed alfresco. And thanks to its spacious setting, the café feels cosy to sit through. In terms of food and drinks, the best seller got to be their freshly brewed coffees where the beans are originated from various countries around the world. And your cup of cuppa only works better when paired with their big breakfast, French toast, quiche and a delectable selection of cakes.

Do you like rabbits? Then you should check out Le Lapin Café, which is situated in the residential area of Taman Danau Desa. The word “lapin” is actually a French word, which means “rabbit” in English. Here, you will experience nice and simple décor (mostly black-and-white colour scheme) filled with rabbit art on the wall as well as a cute display of rabbit figurines. The only thing missing is a real rabbit for you to pet, or maybe an employee dressed up in a white bunny costume. Despite the obvious love for bunnies in this café, don’t expect any rabbit food though.
