Awesome Canteen truly lives up to
its awesome title. This café would ring a bell to most fitness enthusiasts as
the food served here is mainly inspired by the paleo diet. For those who don’t
speak health and nutrition, a paleo diet involves lots of nuts, berries and
meat with minimal to no processed and dairy ingredients. Don’t worry, there are
other items on the menu for those of you who want regular food. Headed by a
team of husband and wife and seven other business partners, Awesome Canteen
began its roots in 2013 and is still going strong today with the café
constantly busy over the weekends. The interior is decorated with recycled
items with a touch of creativity, especially the plant wall and the vintage
items in a glass display.
Union Artisan Coffee at 3Damansara serves a variety of western favourites and cakes. Their signature dishes would be their coffee, chicken chop and seabass ratatouille. Their location at 3Damansara makes them a great place almost in the middle of PJ as a centre point to meet. Coupled with the easy parking within the mall, it's easy to see why this cafe is a winner.
Strangers at 47 is run by 3 young entrepreneurs who all have a passion for good quality and great tasting delicacies. This is a place where strangers from all walks of life can come together with one common interest: food. The interior is decorated similar to most modern café concepts: wooden tables, steel chairs, industrial shelves and concrete walls. Their menu only specialises in crepes and the many different versions they’ve concocted using their culinary powers. The names of these dishes make ordering them pretty darn amazing too. Imagine saying, “I’ll have the Lethal Shrooms and the Purple Rage please”.
From coffee to pastry, almost everyone can find something that they like here. Besides, they also serve western, chinese and japanese style cuisine. You should definitely check this place out!
It is also one of PJ's largest restaurant and is able to fit up to 160 pax.
This café has become widely popular amongst those who want their caffeine kick at weird hours of the night. Oddly enough, the interior and décor remind a lot of The Brew HouZe. Brick walls all around, a stationary vintage bicycle leaning against the counter, along with other quirky old school items lying around. The guys here love their Nutella, with two of their bestsellers being the Nutella cake and the Upside Down (Nutella-coated glass, topped with milk and a generous scoop of vanilla ice-cream). If you’re looking for something to fill you up, Rekindle offers meals like Smoke Salmon Turkey, Ham Cheese Tomato, Roast Beef and Croissant and of course, freshly brewed coffees to wash it all down.
Bucket B is an exceptionally family friendly cafe, do not be surprised to see the full-time parent having his or her well deserved break while their kids enjoy the amenities. The Cafe is suited to serving up to easily a group of 20 people in a gathering or a small family of 3. The ambiance, food, and beverages would excite both the young and the seasoned.
A favourite of regulars who frequent Bucket B, this british inspired eggs and toast all-rounded breakfast is one that both adults and kids adore. Being a kids menu item, those above said age might feel a tinge of awkwardness ordering this adorable plate of morning goodness, but do not hold yourself back from dipping these buttered sticks of toasts into them runny half-boiled eggs. It is said many adults have this as their favourite dish here. Equipped with a spoon and a fork, one is able to eat and enjoy this meal without getting all messy and sticky as the ones at home or in coffee shops. Imagine your everyday breakfast, just more fun.
This little, cosy hub is a cafe that fits the 'needle in a hay' phrase very well - it's so well hidden that you need to spend some time walking around for it. However, the journey wouldn't exactly be a waste as the cafe is worth visiting to begin with. The cafe and its decor are simple and even the menu sticks to many classic options, ranging from your favourite and comfort food like Big Breakfast and Egg Benedict. Portions are pretty generous and flavours are on point, so you sure leave this place with a wide smile.
A cosy little café with a name that’s fun to pronounce over and over again. Coffee Good Golly Miss Molly is nestled in Millennium Square, Section 14 and it does tick necessary boxes as a good neighbourhood coffee joint. Assembled with exposed brick walls and wooden flooring, one can unwind and relax over a good cup of coffee coupled with cakes and pastries. With Artisan Coffee beans found in the hopper, one can expect a pretty decent cup of coffee. Last but not forgetting, they serve good red (rooibos) tea too!
One might miss this café as it is hidden behind some trees. It’s located right next to a tandoori restaurant. As for parking, either you try parking outside or pay RM2 for the first two hours and RM1.50 for every subsequent hour or pay a flat rate of RM3 from 6pm – 6am in the Millennium Square’s basement.

Best with
Coffee aside, I would recommend the classic Tiramisu cake — creamy on the outside and spongy in the inside. Heaven.
Good Food & Co is a cosy little
place in Jaya Shopping Centre, offering a pretty decent variety of Western

sandwich, baked eggs and pastas. Despite being inexpensive, quality is definitely on point.
