Relatively speaking, only the locals do know about Restoran Tai Sam Guan’s existence and it is particularly sought-after for its Crab with Salted Egg. This is not the creamy version or those that are flooded with butter, but merely using salted egg yolk and very palatable! You are able to taste the freshness of the crab, and with bits of salted egg yolk clinging to its juicy and sweet to taste meat!

Tucked away at the end of an alley, amidst shophouses and night pubs, is Restoran Aunty Fatso, also known as “Madam Fatso”. Having been around for a couple decades, it ensures you with one of the best quality and taste of the food here. While it is famous for crabs, you should try the Sweet and Sour Crab here. With a vivid reddish tint and a piquant smell exuding from the steaming hot gravy, this finger-licking good crab is generously smothered in a robust sweet and sour sauce and boasts its succulent sweet crab meat. It is also served with fried bread, which what makes it a perfect accompaniment for the gravy.

From a first glance, Restoran Xing Heng may not be that eye appealing due to its rustic looking signboard. But nevertheless, this indicates that this restaurant has somewhat been around for a while. As seen on the signboard, crab is one of the main highlights here. If you’re indecisive on which taste to choose from, go for the Salted Egg Crab. This light creamy looking crab tasted just about right and it leaves you with a mellow mouthfeel on every bite! Otherwise, Kam Heong Crab here is equally tasty too!

Adjacent to the facade of a Chinese shrine, is a renowned restaurant known as Restoran Lu Yeh Yen. It is also accessible through the shrine, which is where its outdoor dining area is being placed. A fair range of various a la carte dishes is seen here. Similarly, Spicy Sweet and Sour Crabs is one of the best sellers here as well. The sauce of this luscious looking crab dish is extremely flavourful. It is leaning more towards the thick and spicy orange hue and the crab meat is soft.
