Malaysia is home to a world of culinary expertise, regardless where they may be from. Be it the finest of cuisines or the humble yet guiltily-addictive fried snacks such as the cucur udang, we love them all. Oh yes, who doesn’t love deep-fried fritters chockfull with beansprouts and pieces of prawns, and paired with a dipping sauce. Resoundingly crispy on the outside yet bouncy on the inside, you could just do it all day long. Which is why we have taken the liberty to compile a list of the best cucur udang in KL, just for you.

Limapulo: Baba Can Cook
Limapulo is a stunning looking place that offers a wide variety of Malaysian cuisines. It's rustic-yet-contemporary outlook in architecture also reflects onto their dishes, where everything is done in a simplistic and authentic manner. No additional decoration, just pure, good food. As for the cucur udang, it is served in bite size pieces and each mouthful is a blast of flavours.

Bijan Bar and Restaurants
Bijan is a great place to explore a range of fine Malay cuisine. Savour and unwind with a range of beautifully crafted and dishes and a glass of wine. Though it may sound odd to have cucur udang with alcohol, but hey, what is life without a bump of fun, right? Done to crispy perfection, the cucur udang goes really well with the complimented chili sauce.

Songket Restaurant
Songket is also another great place for some delicious Malay food. Some of their signatures include an appealing selection of rendang, otak-otak, fish curry and several others. Apart from that, their humble serving of crispy cucur udang is definitely worth a try, too. It may look spiky from afar, but those are what makes it so special. Great texture, flavour and of course, presentation. What more could you ask for in a cucur udang?
