Best Pork Knuckles in KL

Written by Updated ago

Some people prefer the leaner parts such as the shoulder steak and spare ribs, while others prefer the fattier parts like the belly. While all that is put into consideration, let’s first go on a journey to find one of the best parts of pork – the knuckle! In the bottom is a list of the best, crispy pork knuckles in Kuala Lumpur!

Lau Heong is famous for its seafood but today, the attention will go to their deep fried pork knuckle. Besides being only deep fried and crispy on the outside, it is also salted to give that extra flavour into the pork skin. The pork knuckle is full of flavour and it comes on some tomato-ish, curry kind of gravy. It’s not spicy and it’s more sourish and on the sweet side.
    Tips

Ask for the gravy to be put at the side if you don’t like the sauce interfering with the crispiness of the pork knuckle.

If you have ever been to any Chinese restaurants selling Bak Kut Teh, pork knuckles is common but The Champ's pork knuckles are cooked in a big stainless steel pot for almost 72 hours in order for the it to be tender and braised perfectly. After it is served, they will pour the alcohol onto the pork knuckles and cook it right in front of you! It is recommended to dip in soy sauce if you find it not savoury enough for your tastebuds.
