Restoran Yung Lai Siang
Restoran Yung Lai Siang is a prominent local coffee shop in town. There are two stalls here managed by two siblings, one is sought-after for its prawn mee and the other is sought-after for its laksa. We will be reviewing about prawn mee for this one. You have the option of choosing your type of noodle here, be it the yellow egg noodles, or rice vermicelli (mee hoon). The broth is flavourful and it has a reddish tint with a tantalising prawn aroma. Unlike any other places, julienned deep fried dried beancurd sheets is added for finishing, something that many people look forward to apart from their flavourful broth. Alternatively, you may also opt for the dry version of prawn mee served with a bowl of soup.

Hoo Khiew Prawn Cracker Noodles
Hoo Khiew Prawn Cracker Noodles is actually a revamped house with an extended veranda at the front for dining, along with a stationed food cart where the noodles are cooked. Needless to say, the prawn cracker here is a best match when immersed into a bowl of noodles with soup. Every spoonful of soup is divine as it is light and is almost entirely MSG free! As a matter of fact, there is no ubiquitous fresh garnishings for this dish except for its noodles, prawn crackers and fish balls. For noodles, you may opt between the alkaline tasting yellow noodles, rice vermicelli or flat rice noodles.

Prawn Crackers Fish Ball Noodles
An anonymous place that is located slightly off town. They are not easily spotted so you may refer to the landmark by searching for MVM, the largest manufacturer of rice vermicelli in Malaysia. As the name implies, Prawn Crackers Fish Ball Noodles is highly recommended here. This prawn noodle is certainly not to be missed! Similar to Hoo Khiew Prawn Cracker Noodles, however a handful of prawn crackers is given and it is pleasantly crisp, as compared to the former, in addition to having fish ball as well.
