Be it breakfast or supper, there are people who will have the sudden urge and cravings for some delicious wantan mee. It can be done either with a rich chicken broth or rather, soy sauce base, otherwise known as the dry form. Both should have a good consistency on the noodles, where it's neither soggy nor dense, and the dumplings to be absolutely juicy and succulent. It should pop with flavour and texture, exposing all the delicious minced pork within. Served with some roast or marinated bbq pork (depending on area), vegetables, spring onions and some pickled green chili - delicious!

Flying Wan Tan Mee
Flying wan tan mee, what a name. This funnily-named stall is merely a warong located by the street, serving old-school noodles prepared with a tossing cooking style. The humble stall serves pretty authentic noodles despite being prepared by a foreigner cook. The wan tan mee tastes a whole lot better when topped with some char siew(s). The charcoal-burnt char siew is, although oily but the tenderness and succulent meat totally makes up for it.

Toast & Roast
Despite running for quite a long period of time, some folks and visitors aren't aware of this hidden gem since it is located in the quiet neighborhood behind Tropicana City Mall. Often times , you would drive past this row of shops and pass them as normal houses because they are quite hidden from view. True PJ-goers would know of Toast & Roast for its famed wan tan mee and its unbelieveably affordable price. However, their food consistency remains a problem once in a while, so don't expect the same, loveable dish everytime you visit. Besides WTM, Hakka Mee and char siews, they also serve pretty decent green curries but subject to availability on certain days only. The restaurant tends to get crowded real quick so come early to avoid any parking problems.

Restoran Chan Meng Kee
Many old PJ-ians would remember Chan Meng Kee and their noodles since the older days but as of September 2014 they had relocated to a new lot, just 5 shops away. Nevertheless, their tasty wan tan mee dishes remains delicious and fondful for many customers who continue to visit. While the noodles may seem ordinary, Chan Meng Kee stands out with their caramelized char siew(s). It looks burnt/black-like but trust us when we say it's addictive! (Not to mention oh-so-bad for our heart!)

Robert’s Char Kuey Teow & Wan Tan Mee
Wah Cheong is a cornerlot kopitiam, located near the Section 17 wet market. This coffee shop is pretty popular among PJ folks and with the large crowd during peak hours, it’s common to share tables with strangers. A kopitiam usually has many operating stalls, and one of the stalls sell wan tan mee. The stall is manned by an old man and a grumpy lady with glasses, aided by a worker. They serve wantan noodles with a variety of your typical favorite toppings - char siew & wanton, poached chicken or braised chicken feet with Chinese mushrooms. Besides wan tan mee, they also serve curry mee.
