Maggi 2-Minute Noodles: Kari
Maggi is a brand that is so synonymous with instant noodles in this country that it defines the meaning of instant noodles for most of us. The ultimate classic Maggi noodles is their curry flavor; same great taste, same great feel, regardless of what other brand is out there, the original Maggi Kari Flavour would satisfy whenever the occasional craving hits. Maggi noodles, if cooked right, would be delightfully springy. The soup, although not the best of curry, still tastes like the familiar Maggi curry flavour that above all is like welcoming an old friend. It is best to put in a little bit more water if you’re cooking this over the stove, but hey, we all have that one recipe to cook our kind of Maggi Kari, right?

Cintan Mi Segera Mmm… Perisa KariCertified
halalApparently, Cintan was the first company to produce instant noodles in Malaysia. According to its packaging, the Cintan Mi Segera Mmm… Perisa Kari contains protein. Which is pretty cool. Who doesn’t want to eat instant noodles that is added with good nutrition ingredients and make them feel a little healthier? This instant noodle dish can be considered as a standard kind of instant. The soup has a mild taste of curry and it is very salty. As promised, the noodles have excellent quality, springy, and good texture. In a way, it is a very straightforward curry instant noodle. It is neither unique or unsatisfactory. With a standard size, it can be a reliable choice of instant noodle.

Maggi 2-Minute Noodles: Kari Letup
After the success of Maggi Original Kari, the brand decided to up the spicy stakes with the release of Maggi Kari Letup. Pretty much the same thing, the only difference is to cater to those who feel like getting a bit more kick but with the same taste. True to its words of marketing, it is spicier than the original version but not by much. The spiciness of this Maggi lingers for a while; the moment the soup touches your tongue, you would feel the slight difference but Malaysia being a country that adores chilli, we have had worse. That being said, if you have low tolerance to heat and you want to upgrade to something a little bit more, Maggi Kari Letup is your pick.

Maggi Letup: Kari Cili Api
In another attempt by Maggi to produce a spicier curry flavour instant noodles, here’s Maggi Letup Kari Cili Api. Taking into consideration the spicy but could be spicier versions of Maggi Kari and Kari Letup, they went all out and incorporate bird’s eye chilli in their soup recipe. But in order to still make it marketable, the spiciness is controlled and a little bit subdued. However, the heat from the chilli would hit after swallowing, felt at the back of the throat. If one is not careful, it would lead to coughing and slight pain in the throat. The overall taste of the curry is somewhat different to the other two versions, but with the same springy noodles and mix of spices, plus a bigger portion at 110g per pack.

Maggi Royale: Penang Seafood Curry
The smell and the look would remind one fondly of an actual bowl of curry noodles. The rich and creamy soup has a colour of pale orange with traces of chilli and oil, and a concentration that is quite runny and not too thick; it looks like a bowl of Penang curry with promise of flavourful sip after sip. It does not compare to the real thing that took time and effort to make, but it deserves recognition in recreating as much as it can for a meal that is cooked in a much lesser time. You can taste the spiciness but it's not something that would make you croak for a glass of water. It is definitely a better version compared to its competition of curry flavoured instant noodles.
