Some may love it and some may not. This interestingly designed dish is quite as there are braised vegetables filled in tiny little baskets or pastry cups. The dish itself is commonly ordered as an appetiser, or given as part of a set meal. It's crispy on the outside and warm on the side, combining various flavours and most importantly - textures. Some may serve with chilli sauce and some may not, but a properly done pai tee is without a doubt, rather addictive.

The Tranquerah
The Tranquerah is one of the best nyonya restaurants in PJ. Located in Glo Damansara, this restaurant looks like it's about to bring you back in time. With its self-made tin chairs and tables, 90s candies and magazine, it truly does feel very different. However, there's one thing that has been consistent throughout the years, their range of awesome nyonya dishes. Amongst all that is available, the pai tee works great as an appetiser, with its crispy basket and crunchy braised vegetables!

Little Penang Cafe
Little Penang Cafe certainly has much to offer. Be it their signature asam laksa, curry mee or simply nasi lemak. All that are great as mains, but the appetiser, the dish that kickstarts everything, would have to be their pai tee. It's not the most enticing thing on the menu, but it certainly is well worth the try. Each serving comes with 6 pieces of delicious edible pastry cups with a good portion of deliciously braised vegetables. It's simple, delectable and ultimately affordable.

Beyond Veggie
If you're in the mood for some vegetarian delight, then perhaps Beyond Veggie might be the place for you. There are quite a number of delicious and healthy things you can order from its menu, but you've got to try their pai tee. Though it isn't exactly the most popular, it is done quite well and it works great as an appetiser. Not only are the pastry cups really thin and light, they hold the fillings within real nicely, and break upon putting it in your mouth. It's incredibly simple, but delicious as well. Though do not expect any more than that.
