Sarawak never fails to get a big uptick for its untouched nature and culture yet the food hasn’t gained much traction as other states in the country. If this is what mulling over your mind, their signature dish, Kolo Mee is eager to prove you wrong. Literally translated as “dry mixed noodles” in Chinese, it’s a common comfort food, particularly in Kuching. If the name doesn’t give much of a magnetic appeal, the flavours and wallet-friendly price tag certainly does. Flash-boiled springy noodles are lashed with dark soy sauce and liberally laden with minced pork, slivers of char siew, chicken and scatterings of shallots. Seemingly simple yet expect flying colours when it taps onto your taste buds. Kolo mee joints below are quite making the trend in Penang for noodle enthusiasts. Happy slurping!
