Char Kway Teow or Char Kuey Teow or however you spell it can only be described as a versatile dish. It can be made wet, dry or in-between. Eggs, beansprouts, chives and flat noodles are all thrown into the wok, fried gloriously in big flames, exuding a delightful aroma that can only be beaten by the smell of roti canai & dhall on a Sunday morning. While the Penang version of Char Kuey Teow started its fame, the KL ones come a close second. Here, FoodAdvisor has the best recommended Char Kuey Teow in Kuala Lumpur, both pork free and non!

Tiam Fatt
Well, you might be carrying a rabbit’s tail with you, because this is one stall you can cross off your bucket list. Vigorously flamed over the smoky wok, your olfactory senses will constantly be enticed by the emanating aroma that fills the place. What make it even more scrumptious are the options of chicken and duck eggs, and fresh prawns and fish cakes that are just so firm and bouncy. Besides the smoky and savoury flavours, the addition of Chinese sausage offers a sweet dimension to the dish. If your rabbit tail really works, you can find crispy pork lard within the delectable mix.
