The classic buttermilk waffles of everyone's favourite is Inside Scoop's best seller and a pride of their own. True to their words, Inside Scoop really does provide exemplary crunchiness of books of waffles stacked generously on top of another. The complementary ice cream slugged on top truly is delicious and just complements the whole batter waffles altogether with a sprinkled snow of sugar powder and lashes of chocolate syrup, sweet enough in complementing the tongue's palette on the balancing of the sweetness. The best part? Abundance of ice cream flavours that vie for equal attention to employ itself onto the waffles. 

For those of you who thought there would be real living owls in Owls Cafe, you’ll be madly disappointed. However, they do have plenty of owl figurines and design to compensate that part of the sector. Beautifully designed in many ways and the attention to detail was truly remarkable. In other words, Instagram-material. Aside from designs of the cafe, the dishes itself, especially the waffles were beautifully plated and decorated. Lots of colours, vibrant and absolutely beautiful. Most importantly, it tasted really well balanced as well – loved the ice cream and condiments! When your sweet tooth is asleep, check out their savoury options that are equally good.

The Banoffee Pie from The Daily Grind comes in a pretty unique look – a waffle folded in half (also named the “Banoffle”). Thankfully, it’s filled luscious banoffee cream and sliced bananas! Drenched in additional melted chocolate along with some icing sugar, the Banoffee “waffle” is truly a treat for many. It also comes with additional melted chocolate and vanilla ice cream on the side. After all, we are pretty certain that hardly anyone could finish it after a hearty burger meal at The Daily Grind, thus opt for sharing. 

Hot Shots Coffee and Tea is generally a coffee house where you’d expect sale of fresh coffee beans, grinders, roasters and various other interesting coffee-making machine. Apart from its coffee, they do offer tea known as TeaPigs as well. Though the waffle wasn’t its main selling point, we believe that it deserves a spot in the list due to its freshness and taste. In this particular dish, it comes with a serving of whipped cream, hot chocolate syrup and of course, fresh strawberries. Overall its pleasantly plated, delicious and leaves enough space for a cup of coffee or two. 

Started off as an alcoholic bar instead of a coffee bar, The Library Bar has expanded its alcoholic horizons to coffee and beyond. Serving not only freshly brewed coffees but desserts and cakes as well. Their waffle is no exception. Served generously with chocolate syrup, sliced bananas and topped with peanuts that it might cost tooth decay within a child. It was really that sweet! Perfect for those who enjoy sweets! Jemi Cafe is a casual and relaxing place to be, with its rather dim lighting and aroma of freshly brewed coffee. They also specialise in two types of dessert. The first being waffles (while the other is Honey Toasts), in which you can choose from either sweet or savoury. As for the sweet, the most popular, if not best tasting would definitely have to be the Sweet Potato Waffle. It comes in 3 heart shaped waffles, filled with homemade sweet potato mash, cream, crushed honeycombs, toasted nuts, coconut flakes, berries, macaron, ice cream and whipped cream. Phew! This sweet concoction will definitely leave you craving for more.

Marrying the unsuspected ingredients of a fried duck egg, mushrooms, aubergines, and miso, you ought to doubt the peculiar combination. But instead, this beckoning dish manages to pair that combination with Sitka’s homemade waffles, resulting in a savoury, smoky flavours; and fluffy textures. Full of surprises indeed, in a good way. And not forgetting, it looks beautiful on social media, definitely an important point these days. It might take some time for you to adore back the sweet versions.

Go-Getter has a mindblowing reputation for unique interpretations of waffles, despite being relatively new in the market. VCR's take on our modern waffle is quite unique to say the least, and probably what you'll least expect. Known as the Potato Waffle, the batter is made from, of course potato, making it crisp yet chewy, along with a generous amount of sauteed mushroom, scatter of rosemary, a half-boiled egg and a scoop of chutney-like sambal. The dish does look incredibly simple but it is pretty enough for your eyes to feast. The delectable waffle marries marvellously well with a cup of coffee and the Instagram-worthy interior, rounding up a pleasant dining experience overall.

Calling all cocoa lovers! Salon Du Chocolat serves one of the best chocolate-everything desserts in town, and waffles are sure not to be excluded from their menu. From waffle sticks to waffle donuts; you can be sure to relinquish your thirst for waffles when there's so much to choose from their menu! Of course, the best part is that every waffle dish comes with chocolate toppings or chocolate infills. A sweet, luscious and ultimately sinful dessert. Worth teasing your followers in Instagram too. Metaphorically, a chocolate heaven for all chocolate lovers!

My Waffle Shop serves decent waffles that are the true epitome of balance - they're crunchy yet soft and fluffy. The menu is also very straight to the point. The no-fuss eatery offers waffles with simple preferences, like chocolate + peanut butter or blueberry + strawberry. Since they're a grab and go place, they are great for days when you're too lazy to think of what toppings or fillings to go with your waffles, right? The best part? It does not put a hole in your wallet and the service is pretty quick too. 

Unfortunately, it wasn’t Da Vinci who made those waffles. Though it would be rather interesting to witness him applying his scientific and creative mind onto making waffles and toppings – it would taste absolutely divine we suppose. Having said that, it’s not like it’s the end of the world. Leonardo’s Dining Room and Wine loft does offer pretty good, crispy and aromatic waffles with melted chocolate, butter, honey and ice cream. Though served in a more humble way, the marriage of texture and flavour certainly leaves you wanting more. A slight detour from regular coffees, here one can match waffles with wines. 

Aether Cafe is located in a blissful neighbourhood of TTDI. Accompanied by lush greenery and carefully designed interior, Malaysia brothers Mark & Shaun opt to provide an escape or sanctuary for the office crowd. Here we have their signature Red Velvet Waffle, which is quite literally a combination between Red Velvet and Waffle. Served with fresh strawberries, a scoop of vanilla ice cream and lashes of chocolate sauce, the Red Velvet waffle was delicious indeed. Slightly on the sweeter side but really works well with the strawberries. Not to mention it’s great for a photo!

In between beers and main courses, Brussels Galerie keeps a selection of dessert for those seeking to have something light and sweet once a while. Their waffle is one such light dessert snack and it's pretty good. Thick and tasty, the waffles reminiscence a homecooked feel as it is not overly soft or hard like conventional store bought waffles. While crispy, it still retains that softness so that it doesn't break entirely in your mouth. Add honey, a strawberry paste and ice cream on top? It's the perfect comfort food to compliment your beer with.

The best part is, most of the ice cream and toppings have optimum sweetness, which is great for those who aren't much of a sugar junkie. The salted egg yolk sauce also wraps everything together really nicely. Last but not least, it's also really pretty and photoworthy!
