For those of you who thought there would be real living owls in Owls Cafe, you’ll be madly disappointed. However, they do have plenty of owl figurines and design to compensate that part of the sector. Beautifully designed in many ways and the attention to detail was truly remarkable. In other words, Instagram-material. Aside from designs of the cafe, the dishes itself, especially the waffles were beautifully plated and decorated. Lots of colours, vibrant and absolutely beautiful. Jemi Cafe is a casual and relaxing place to be, with its rather dim lighting and aroma of freshly brewed coffee. They also specialise in two types of dessert. The first being waffles (while the other is Honey Toasts), in which you can choose from either sweet or savoury. As for the sweet, the most popular, if not best tasting would definitely have to be the Sweet Potato Waffle. It comes in 3 heart shaped waffles, filled with homemade sweet potato mash, cream, crushed honeycombs, toasted nuts, coconut flakes, berries, macaron, ice cream and whipped cream. Phew! This sweet concoction will definitely leave you craving for more.

Adopting a Taiwanese-looking concept for a cafe, Cafe 5 serves top-notch sweet and savoury Belgian waffles that cater to diverse tastes and cravings. Their best-selling savoury waffle, Murakami, is topped with paper-thin shavings of preserved skipjack tuna, along with dressing such as mayonnaise to gives a distinct kick like no other. For those of you who come in groups, ordering Willy Wonka (comprises of waffles, marshmallows, salted egg yolk, durian, and matcha ice creams, banana and strawberry slices dipped in Belgian chocolate fondue) is highly recommended.
