Panna cotta originated from Italy and
directly translated means 'cooked cream'. It is a type of pudding made out of
sweetened dairy thickened with gelatine and moulded. It can be
consumed right out of a cup, but it is more often unmoulded onto a plate and
drizzled with rum, caramel, coffee, vanilla, or other flavourings, coupled with
fresh fruit. A mouthful of panna cotta is delightfully creamy, dissolving in
the mouth and blanketing over the tongue sans lumps or noticeable pieces.

La Risata
La Risata, meaning 'the laughter', are two lively restaurants in the suburbs of Ampang and Medan Damansara that have been serving some of the best Italian food in Kuala Lumpur since 1996. Well known for their good variety of authentic Italian dishes ranging from traditional wood-fired oven thin pizzas to pastas, meat and seafood dishes that exude the very essence of Italian dining – rustic, hearty and good. Their desserts are not lacking in their quality, either, and the same can be said for their panna cotta. La Risata’s panna cotta is a smooth and soft cream pudding. Topped with their memorable caramel sauce, it goes down the throat perfectly.
