Panna cotta originated from Italy and
directly translated means 'cooked cream'. It is a type of pudding made out of
sweetened dairy thickened with gelatine and moulded. It can be
consumed right out of a cup, but it is more often unmoulded onto a plate and
drizzled with rum, caramel, coffee, vanilla, or other flavourings, coupled with
fresh fruit. A mouthful of panna cotta is delightfully creamy, dissolving in
the mouth and blanketing over the tongue sans lumps or noticeable pieces.

Villa Danieli
Villa Danieli, Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel's award-winning Italian restaurant, is a free-standing trattoria styled after a rustic country home. Villa Danieli's Strawberry Panna Cotta is firm, smooth and intensely creamy. For those who have a lesser than sweet tooth, a treat for you is this panna cotta isn't too overly sweet as the strawberries and strawberry syrup it is drizzled with are a delightful match with the dessert in balancing out its refined taste between sweet and sour.

Sassorosso
Squirrelled away a stone throw away from KLCC, Sassorosso (meaning 'Red Stone' in Italian) is housed in a cozy and quaint bungalow similar to one from the 1940’s era. The food here is as authentic and good as they come in terms of a really good Italian meal, ending with their desserts. Sassarosso’s vanilla bean panna cotta has an amazing texture in that it is not too dense, yet not too light – and tastes just right in terms of its sweetness. It derived its refined flavour from the drizzled reduced red wine, which brought forth with it a note of sweetness and the plum which promoted mild acidity alongside fruity sweetness. Simply put, Sassarosso’s all of those combined made for one heavenly creamy panna cotta which your taste buds will thank you dearly for.
